Interesting IMBOC Thread
"We don't know the price yet, but listening to the plans, I think we will have something that is easier to get into than the Shelby GT by a lot."
Man, Tony I hope you're right on the part I emphasized in your quote above. Btw, someone on imboc states they think the cars will become available in March timeframe next year. Do you agree?
Also, will that "MySync" (bluetooth-like) be an option on the Bullitts?

I am such a dummy...
Ford probably hand built yours!
The vibration reference is on highway driving and its level of vibration increasing or decreasing depending on rate of speed. I've noticed on the GT500 the vibrations are greatly reduced, most likely due to its extractors.
IMO Ford dropped the ball on keeping the stock hood on the BULLITT. Had it been a double vented hood it might have accomplished an improvement more important than the looks many were hoping for.

Like the rest of you, I'm very excited to finally see some pics of the new Bullitt. Ford has done a great job of keeping the intrigue of this car going-just what they wanted.
I think most (like me) wanted more power under the hood, but I guess there's a cost reason to justify that as well. At least Ford offers a factory-backed upgrade network with its FRPP selection that can accomplish the job quite nicely. I was never hung up on the twin-vented hood, but the more I think of it, going without it is really leaving the car incomplete. And besides that, it really would have distinguished the car from all other Mustangs out there. Even if it cost $200 extra, I don't think anybody would've argued with it.
But the biggest overall appeal of the Bullitt is the low-profile understated look (just like the 01's) that I really like! A true sleeper of a car that looks like a V-6 at first glance. Save the bling bling for the other guys, I think I'll like the Bullitt for "under the radar" look!

As for price...we did see in the order bank that the Bullitt option was about $1900 (Canadian). I said the car should basically be a Mustang GT plus the Bullitt option price and the dealer agreed with me. So it should be affordable.
I'm in!
My dealer says they are getting two Bullitts so far, he has my name on the first one as soon as the orders will be accepted..gonna be nice!
Like my 06 GT this will be my everyday driver, I like the option list so far and will only add HID and the ambiant lighting feature.
Cant wait to see the pix from the LA show, I doupt it will be a deal breaker, but I am hoping they do a decent job with the "less is more" look that is true to the 68 car!
I have sorta been dreaming about such a car for some time, sure will be nice to have a Highland green 68 and 2008...oh yea!!

Not in this lifetime.
When my Mach 1 was built, which was about 2 weeks into production back on 21-Nov-2002, it was purchased by me in early December a few weeks later.
That is not yet available on the Mustang line. I believe HID, ambient lighting, and the navigation/satellite radio system will be the only options from what I recall.
I could wrong about this, but it is my understanding those would not be included. The order guide does not indicate they can't be ordered, but the Ford folks at AAI mentioned this.
Take what I say with a grain of salt please!

I was at a meet last night and spoke to some Ford dealer sources here in the Houston area that stated they saw documentation indicating an availability date of around April of 2008.
If I am not mistaken, that (ironically) is when they initially began filming the movie back in 68.
I (or rather the folks I talked to last night) could be wrong but maybe that is just what they are telling the dealers right now ... (???).

HID's are NOT standard, rather an option. Only other options are the Ambient Lighting, Active Anti-Theft, wheel locks, Sirius, and the Shaker 1000. Also it looks like the navigation system is also available in the Bullitt, as I just was on CONCEPTS here at work. Typed in options and such and it didn't say "option 58X (nav) not a vaild combination" when I hit the enter button to bring up the screen that tells me Job2 order only. So you can have your Bullitt with factory nav!

According to the head engineer for the project the vented hood wasn't even discussed as a possibility. When the specifics come out you can see why.
As for options, they are (other than the color) SIRIUS, SHAKER 1000, nav system, HID's, and the interior lighting package
