Interested in the Bullitt

Hey guys,

I drive an '04 V6 Mustang 40th Anniversary and I've been patiently awaiting the release of the 2010 Camaro but after seeing the Bullitt, I think this car has sparked my interest a lot more. The main reason I was interested in the Camaro is because I can get an excellent deal with my GM Supplier Discount from my company and it gives me a few extra years to save up a little more money because I'm planning to buy a house soon. I've been browsing these forums as a guest for a little bit and I've heard there's some really good Ford incentives going on right now and I hopefully plan to go down to my dealership and talk about ordering the Bullitt. I still owe about 11k for my car and I really don't want to be upside down on the payments and only get 8k or something because as it stands 31,000 is pretty expensive for a car and that's about $475 a month versus the $239 I pay right now. What are my chances of getting down to the mid-20's with my trade and current incentives and possibly haggling a bit?

Being that the Bullit is a new and 'rare' mustang I seriously doubt dealerships will want to haggle the price. I'm betting most (if not all) dealers will have a juicy mark up on this car when it hits the showroom floors.

Wouldn't ordering the package on an '08 GT from Ford directly avoid the dealer mark-up? I beleive I ****ed off my Ford dealer enough when I was about to walk over $200 on my current car (sticker was 15, offered him 12 and he said 12,200.) Don't think I'd be able to haggle much when ordering but I don't really know anyone who pays sticker, even brand new should be able to get a few thousand off. Depends on how good the incentives are really.. and what I'd get back for my car.. I bought their extended warranty and everything so that should put it a few over book value (I think I owe what the car's worth anyways). I'm not too anxious I can always wait till 2009-2010, not going to put myself in the hole for 6 years just for a name and an appearance package..

Unfortunately I don't think I can get X-plan either, my company only has a GM incentive.

Actually, I've found that MANY dealerships are not doing markups. The one I'm getting mine at is not. And they are willing to haggle below msrp. You can try for the x-plan discount also plus a trade in should bring you down to that range. You can get a pin from blueovalforums and some other spots to do the x-plan. You shouldn't need the pin until you go to pickup/pay for it, though.

Don't give up hope. I know of a few that actually haggled their price down to 29,900 (about x-plan price). I think it is possible.

You may have to wait for a bit for the ADM monster to go away.

If you're anywhere near Indiana, I'll give you some dealerships names that have confirmed that there will be no ADM.

Hey Josh, welcome to the boards. Lots of very helpful people here. I would definitely stay with the Mustang Bullitt. Even though you get the GM Suppliers Discount, I would be very suprised if a dealer would take it on the new Camaro. You and I (and many others) know that the Chevy dealers are "licking their chops" at the potential ADMs they can get on the new Camaro. The Bullitt should be in your reach. BTW, if you wanted me to price up what the Bullitt would cost you with the options you wanted, let me know. I can PM the MSRP to you, so you have an idea where the pricing starts.

DEFINITELY! Cars don't seem to be moving. And people won't be looking for sports cars in the dead of winter (when the Bullitt comes around). Anybody know when they start building them?

Wonder what D-plan is? I work for a dealer and that's what we pay. Don't really want to ask; I'm afraid that they'll really try to sell me one and then....well, you know. I just bought an '06 G.T. and don't really need to trade it, and my wife has had her '06 V6 Pony for only a little over a year, so I would probably get bent over on it as well.

Hey Mark, send me a PM with options and I'll price one out D-Plan, for the heck of it, so ya know.

Hey Ray, the easiest way to get one of the plans, is to work for a company that is on Ford's list. The list of "partners" is pretty extensive. Merck, 7-11, AstraZeneca, Home Depot, just to name a few. When you work for the company, you (and your spouse) are entitles to X-Plan. All you need for this is the PIN number and proof that you work for the company (pay stub, employee ID, etc).

If you don't work for a company on the list, you can go onto Blueovalnews.com, sign up for the site, and request a PIN number (there is a section in the forum for this subject). If that doesn't work, and your friends with a Ford employee, they can get you a X-Plan PIN using "friends & family". This is an easy way to get one. Usually they can give out 8 a year.

What it does for price, X-Plan takes you under invoice on most cars instantly. No haggle, no negotiating. Real simple. If you work for a large company and your unsure if you qualify, PM me your company and I can look on the list. The list is VERY large (several thousand companies). The X-Plan is the only plan that most people can get. The A/Z Plan is for current/retired Ford Employees. D-Plan is the plan for dealership personel. Hope this helps.

Actually, if you qualify for X-Plan AND are active military, the military rebate doesn't apply to Plan deals.
