Gauge Comparo...

Your are correct!, the other day with all the talk about the "fonts" on the Bullitt gauges I had to step out to the garage and look at my 68..like you posted, yes they are more similar to the standard issue modern GT...one of the nice things I noticed when I bought my 06 GT, among other throw back styling clues.

yeah...I dont think they were trying to replicate the '68 guages with the bullitt...I think they were trying to use "Bullitt movie theme" font...not the car. I dont think Frank Bullitt's car had different font on the guages than any other '68 GT390 Fastback on the road.

looking closely the diff between the regular GT and the Bullit is in the center, looks like a rifle cross hair was added.
Also does it look like the tach redlines at 6500? or just the angle the photo was taken?

They look like the GT/V6 guages because the GT390 wasn't anything special..it was just a mustang..no limited edition crap.
I think the bUllitt should never have been called that and they should have just called it the GT390 (and made it 390 hp) would have been much truer to the real deal if it was a Stripper
