Color Sketch
I think it's pretty evident at this point what Ford is going to give us, or more importantly, not going to give us with respect to the forthcoming Bullitt.
Glad I didn't wait for this underwhelming offering. Ford's M.O. is too predictable.
I see a rendering of exactly what the car in the movie bullet was, a car devoid of it's emblems and fogs, 5 spoke two tone wheels and dark green paint.
What are you looking for? An updated version with a hood scoop or vents? A spoiler? 20" wheels with more chrome? A badge? "Bullet" lettering? A hood tach? Something that makes the variation more apparent visually when compared to a GT? Something that was not on the car used in the movie? Are you looking for something closer to the actual bullet badged mustang Ford built?
The rendering looks like something you could build yourself if the car came in green, to me.
We can all say what we don't like, how about suggestions of what would make you buy the car?

Yeah, thats the color version of the faxed picture i posted here awhile ago, drawn by Joe Siler, the Ford Design Manager. I was hoping it would reveal more details but looks like it's pretty plain still.
I see: GT/CS front facia with middle painted, chrome trim around the grille, pony in the grille, and maybe those chrome headlight buckets we saw a couple years ago...
As long as the wheels are grey and not black, I can live w/out the dual vented hood.
(edit: think I found my answer: from Topnotch in this thread post#37:

"The wheels will have a little bit more rubber and have a Charcoal finish (to match the gas cap surround) as opposed to the black finish of the Shelby GT")
I'll most likely get one assuming some are still around in about a year, the price is what we've debated (ie $32-34K) and assuming other items unique to Bullitt model are still forthcoming as previously mentioned (seats, shifter, etc).
Hell, I've been waiting over three years for this car.

- DHG paint
- 18" gray Bullitt wheels (like the '01 pre-production model)
- Lowered suspension (possibly FRPP kit)
- Red painted brake calipers (like the '01)
- Spoiler delete
- Bullitt badging
- Unique vertically stitched seats (like the '01)
- A REAL power increase (at least 350 - 375 HP)
- Twin hood vents (certainly not a scoop)
Basically a car that takes what was best cosmetically about both the '01 Bullitt and the original movie GT390...and then adds some real power and performance gains.
But it would seem that's not what we're going to get.
The only thing here that would spark my interest is the ford GT motor (Aluminum 5.4, Aluminum Heads) minus the SC... Like was once rumored in these forums somewhere. Or the old SC terminator motor from the 03, 04 cobras. Anything less than that and I have no interest.
Add the 3:73 Gears and you hit it!
I think that Hollywood is right.
Cars fluctuate in hp.. so even though they are rated 300hp, that is the average. so one car could be 290 and another 310.. so now you have a car with 315 average rating and you can have a car that could only be 305hp.
So now you have this rated car of 315 that is slower then this other rated car at 300.
If you boosted the hp like he suggest to 350...even on the low side you are talking 340hp and will guarantee that any of those cars will beat anyone of the 300hp rated models.
