Bullitt Movie Remake?
Sequel vs. Remake
I hate the idea of a Bullitt remake, just as I hated the remake of 'The Thomas Crown Affair' with Pierce Brosnan; its like the new actors and
directors track their muddy footprints all over the original.
Why can't we make a sequel to Bullitt?...We could study the original film and build answers in as to what happened...For example, what happened with Lt. Bullitt and his girlfriend Kathy?...Bullitt I. closes with McQueen waking up and looking up into a mirror...Bullitt II. would have Matt Damon ('A.J.') looking into a mirror, with his mom Kathy in another room. he cuts himself shaving and asks about whatever happened to his dad. Kathy wants to avoid that subject at all costs, but tells him that he should talk to his uncle Walt played by Kevin Costner, who is currently doing time in prison....Want to know more???

The remake, on the other hand, is quite good (it's rare one gets to say that) - and a perfect vehicle for Brosnan.
Now if you want to see an amazing performance by McQueen, watch The Sand Pebbles.

The Pentagon Memo
The government contracted out to two labs. One to make an airborne
virus that has a 48 hour incubation period and the other that makes
the antidote.
In an attempt to cover up a security leak, a memo was sent to General
Lewis from The Pentagon to destroy all evidence of such tests.
General Lewis feeling betrayed goes rogue and he steals the virus and
kidnaps a woman's child. He instructs her to steal the antidote. Her
child has 48 hours to live and in doing so she is chased by the D.O.D.
She calls her Ex-Husband "Detective James Bullitt" for help.
Now it is up to James Bullitt to save his child and ex-wife.

Not A Real Bullitt Film
Some sort of low budget affair, I guess.
On his official website it says this >>
In the Pentagon Memo, I will be playing the lead by the name of "James Bullitt"
This film is in the works to get backers. If you have ever seen "BULLITT" and "The HUNTER" with "Steve McQueen" then you will just have a small feel of what this film is going to be like.
Apparently, David McDivitt was the stunt driver (uncredited) in the short film named Number Two Pencil. He used his own 1968 Mustang Bullitt that he later sold to an overseas investor. Sounds like that gave him the idea to shoot his own low budget "Bullitt-esque" film.
Off hand, I'm guessing that the individual who wrote that post above is McDivitt himself. We'll see if he returns to this thread.
