Bit the Bullitt and now Spit the Bullitt.

I was one of the early owners of the 08 Bullitt- took possession of mine in Jan. 08.
Well today I traded it in for a new 08 Shelby GT500.
A local dealer still had a few 08's on the lot and Ford was offering great rebates and A/X/Z plan on them. The deal was just too good to pass up.
I won't really get much chance to drive the GT500 because I'll be parking it for the winter- but I can't wait till spring!

Thanks.

It was a tough choice letting the Bullitt go- it's a unique car, and the sound of that car was amazing- especially after I put some Borla mufflers on it.
Now I need to find out what mufflers will give the GT500 a more aggressive sound.

Do you mean how much did I get for my trade?
I'm in Canada- so bare in mind these prices are completely different then in the US.
I got 28k for my trade and the GT500 sold for 44k- the sticker on it was 57k.
It seemed pretty fair to me (as fair as you can ever get with the car business, if you know what I mean)- any remaining 08 Bullitts on the lots are going for about 33k now.

i was thinking of trading in my 08 bullitt for a gt 500, but i don't think i could get more than 22k for the bullitt in s.cal since i heard new ones are going for under 30. in fact, there are still new unsold 08 bullitts around here.

Well trading the Bullitt for an 08 GT500 was what worked in my favor- Ford is allowing A/Z/X plan and offering large rebates on remaining 08 GT500's, so it took to the sting out of what I lost on the Bullitt.

I hope you really enjoy your GT500 Dave.
From what I can tell the employee pricing being offered here still doesn't apply to GT500s. Great deal for you!

Smart trade imo. Not a big fan of the Bullitt but really like the GT500 especially when you can score one at MSRP or less.

Thanks Duncan, and thanks everyone else.

I picked up my GT500 earlier this evening. WOW! First let me say I loved how my Bullitt handled and driving it was a blast.
The GT500 feels like a more solid car- probably because it's a heavier car, and it's handling is much tighter feeling.
The power in this car is amazing- it just keeps pouring out and it's so smooth you can't believe just how fast you're going and how quickly you got there.

Starting from a dead stop does take a bit of getting use to- it almost feels like learning to drive a stick shift all over again. There is just so much power under the hood you need to be really gentle on the gas.

It's basically winter here now, but the last few days have been calm and the roads are fairly dry- so I'm hoping for a few more days like this so I can drive the car a bit before I put it away for the winter.

Wow! That's a GREAT price! 44K CAN = about 36K US! Sweet deal... much better then the 60-85k US that people were paying about a year ago. Nice to see the price has adjusted.
