Shifter feels nice as do the seats. Ambient lighting can stay on Philips TVs, give us heated and cooled cup holders! The salesman was a nice kid that told me the only info they had was a printed sheet from internet. The Added Market Value as Bert Wolfe likes to call it was $5000.00 bringing car to $36595.00 How can they use Market Value when no market for this car has been established. I would never buy from these guys. They were the first dealership I ever saw mark the cars up. Started with the Thunderbirds, even had it on Focus in 2000 when I bought one. They marked up the 2001 Bullitt then as well. No way I would trade the 07 GT with Spoiler Delete for that. For less than a grand I could have mine outperforming the Bullitt. I also don't like the fact the only Pony is on the center caps. Should have left the one on the steering wheel.
This is why I buy from Turnpike Ford,

As for grill: I'd think it would be nice to open up the grill, paint the radiator black and throw on a hood with heat extractors that don't stand out from a profile. That way it would look great from the front, look one step more like the original 390 Lt. Bullitt drove, and mitigate internet drivers' concerns about the increased air movement in the grill blowing the hood off. If the air movement combo of heat extractors and wide open grill works on the GT500, why not here?

As for the radio trim, you sure it's got any different chrome from a stock GT with the shaker 500? It looks pretty much like the 08 GT to me from the pics I've seen of the Bullitt.... Granted it would be nice without the trim on the radio buttons, but I don't think they've added any for the Bullitt....

The IP is a polarizing feature: love/hate. I'd think the leather wrapped dash from the Premium Trim pack would have worked better: though lots of people do like the engine turn one - if it's that bad to you, would imagine it's not hard to remove it, set it aside in storage, and put on a more appealing alternative?

Shifter: how did they change it from 08 GT? Is it just the stalk and ball? Or is it the FRPP Hurst? or what? Everyone whos driven it has commented on the shifter and I haven't heard anything on the change other than the satin metal ball....

I can't see how you can buy a CAI, exhaust, suspension upgrades, etc. for less that 1k?
Many just don't want to admit what a great driving and handling car the Bullitt is. Every reviewer has been completely impressed with the performance and handling of this car- many say it's the best driving mustang that Ford has made.

Yeah... I've bought these items for s197's.... it's not going to happen. It cost a lot more than $1k. A CAI and tune itself is $600 for a good one.

I agree with Whammer. Many people think they can match the Bullitt with a few low-buck mods, but you'll probably end up with something that's altered to a point where it's not balanced anymore. Remember, this car was tweaked by Ford until they got it right. You don't just reach into a basket of parts and say, "This should work. Slap it on"! I'm sure Ford did a lot of track testing with the Bullitt and that's why many journalists who have tested the car claim that it's quite a step up from a regular GT.
The shifter on the Bullitt is not an FRPP/Hurst. I think Ford did some adjusting of sorts to tighten it up and take out the "wet noodle" feel. Not sure just what they did, but it is an improvement over the previous shifters.

True - but a good tune will add more than the FRPP one. Still, it's gonna cost a heckuva lot more aftermarket to make a Bullitt than the Bullitt pack adds in cost.

How much for the GT500 seats?
How much for those wheels?
How much for that steering wheel?

Those things above are things I'm going to put on my buy list for the soon to be mine alloy Mustang GT.

Then there's the handling upgrades - not super jarring like the SGT, but what everyone's said so far is a great cross between a Mustan GT and SGT.

Then there's the 3.73 gears - that's like $500-600 installed.

The simple part of it comes down to modding though - Most Bullitt owners aren't gonna mod the car one bit. That same thing goes for most regular Mustang GT owners. If you want though you can drop 10K in a Mustang GT and beat out a GT500 - but most regular folks ask why would you?

If you're gonna mod the car up pretty heavy - then I say go with a Mustang GT - with incentives and what not the price difference off an MSRP Bullitt with tax is close to 6k. But if you know you're not gonna mod a Mustang pretty extreme, then the Bullitt is pretty darn sweet.

AHHHHH!!! Confusion!!! Now I think I want a Bullitt rather than a 2008 GT. What do you think the likelyhood is I will get one if I order it now?

I went to a dealer today, referred there by someone who has been doing business with them for years. They agreed to x-plan a Bullitt, and they also offered me MORE than what I paid for my trade (I bought it used this past Aug).

I think I will miss the fogs, I actually use them to tell wet from black ice. It also looks very plain to me, very plain. Although I am in love with the green. And the moderate mods are perfect for someone like me who doesn't want $$$$$ worth of mods and performance, but wants SOMETHING.

Please shoot me your pros and cons, I need help deciding!! Or, just shoot me.

Wow - if you order it and are worried about visibility w/o the fogs, then definitely order the HID lighting. I'm not familiar with the ones on the 08 Mustangs, but I had an 04 sports car with factory HIDs and the amount of visibility gain was excellent.

I've been too afraid of rejection to try to find a dealer who'll order a Bullitt on x-plan, hehe. If you found one, and you can get a decent order code (quicker delivery), then by all means, that's a great deal!

Good luck!

Wow, sounds like you've got a dealer who really wants your business. With all the incentives, you can't complain about price (plus your trade-in). All you have to decide is whether you really want the Bullitt or not. And with the Bullitt, you would have something different from most others. For me, I would bring a pen to the dealer and sign on the dotted line. But hey, that's me!

Bullitt #452 is at a dealer in dayton OH, unspoken for, so they say. I'm going to go look at it today, I'm sure that will sway me one way or the other pretty quickly

I won't buy it there though because they won't x-plan it

Yeah, I'd imagine not an awful lot of dealers will x-plan it quite yet. Which is why it'd be pretty nice to find one who will....

actually it seems quite a few are accepting x-plan, selling at a deal under MSRP or at MSRP.

Tell the dealer you have a dealer willing to do x plan- he'll probably agree to give it to you then.
If you really wanted fogs I'm sure you could order a GT grill and have it installed. Pretty easy fix.

Hey Lynda, coming from me, if the dealer near you will do a Bullitt on X-Plan TAKE THE DEAL!!!! You won't regret it!!! I'd love to sell you one, but I believe we are only getting 2 and both are spoken for so far. I would take the deal, as your new car would be a true conversation piece at any car show or cruise night you would attend. GO FOR IT!!!

Send me a PM!

By the way, if I were in the market for a V8 2008 Mustang, I would order a Bullitt with HIDs in heartbeat over the GT! And don't get me wrong, I love the GTs!!

Oh these people were GIANT a-holes in so many ways. I did tell them I could x-plan it elsewhere, I even had the paperwork from the other dealer with me. No go for the Bullitt, but then they tell me they will x-plan any Shelby on the lot. Right. Finally after 1 1/2 hrs of total 100% runaround I say just give me a sales manager so I can please get a frickin answer on HOW MUCH FOR THE BULLITT and HOW MUCH FOR MY TRADE, IS THAT SO HARD?! The answer on the Bullitt was ADM. The answer on my trade was "what do you owe on it?" I'm thinking OMG now we're going there? Yeah I'm gonna buy a car from you

Anyway, not a wasted trip though because oh man I LOVE THAT CAR!!! I'm psyched!!! It looks so much better in person!! If the dealer near me is serious about x-planning it, I'm ordering one tomorrow!!
