You guys, this is a GREAT idea. How would you feel if Ford came out with whatever S.E. you want and everyone else makes fun of it? Do you know how many people will buy this? Do you know how many women are affected by cancer every year? Are you that insensitive? Maybe thats why you have no long-term relationships!!

The deal is that Mustang V6 sales are significantly lower than what Ford was expecting. The typical non-gearhead customer has walked from the American brands and are buying Solaras, Eclipses, etc. Ford is trying to come up with something to boost V6 sales. The Mustang Sally is not the correct answer to the low V6 sales problem. The Sally will have very limited appeal. To boost V6 sales better gas mileage and more standard amenities are needed - Did I hear someone say D35 engine & V6 transmission, climate control, seats that fold forward and remember where they were to improve rear seat access and a host of other similar items that the competition has?

Actually my G/F had thyroid cancer and went through chemo and the whole 9 yards. She just passed her 5 year checkup free and clear. You can easilly donate monies without having to buy a pink mustang to do it. I'm still not sure how I feel about using charity as a marketing strategy in general. Corporations surely figure it into the profit margain and write it off. You know there are marketing VP's in an office thinking 'how can we make people feel better buying our product....I GOT IT! lets pretend like we care about such and such and people will buy it!' If they were truly charitable they would simply donate monies and never mention it.

Kevin, glad to hear your g/f is free and clear and hope she stays that way!! Ford does donate monies directly to charities, JDRF to name one, there was a few things at B-J last week (not Carroll's stuff) that they auctioned off with all proceeds going to JDRF. They support the Komen foundation in a major way, too. By no means is this a way to sell more V6's, it is solely targeted at one specific demographic, even if the business model is based off of the SE vert's of the 90's, i.e. low volumes expected, but still just an apperance package.

'08 new CS parts?

I know I've read that the CS will be back in '08 but I was wondering if there were any new parts for that package? There was a thread on the forum about a possible 40th anniv ed GT/CS-special badging, etc?

Honestly, I think that the running horse emblem with the pink ribbon could make for a nice addition to any mustang.

I think the emblems have a lot of potential. It allows mustang enthusiasts to also show their support for breast cancer research and awareness. Similar to wearing the ribbon on a shirt...

Like I said, I think the emblem is a very good idea.

I for one won't use my car to advertise anything regardless of the cause. I'll gladly donate but keep the ribbon.
