I like that car even more now that I've seen that video, and I liked it a lot before. Even the parts I dont like have grown on me a bit.
First shot under the hood that I've seen. Looks like a Whipple
Thanks

First thing I thought of when they opened the hood. Well, this car is supposedly using FRPP parts.

Thanks for the great find!!
Well one thing I found out from the vids, Ford asked Guirgario ,the italion designer to build the prototype. He didnt just offer to or suggest it himself. So if Ford asked him to design it, then you have to belive Ford is looking for ideas for future Mustangs , and as they guage public reaction to the concept car, if the masses like it, you got to belive some elemets will find their way into production.I think the over all car as a whole is dam awsome, I think its a good direction for the Mustang.
And you see Guirgario was carefull to maintain certain elements that are easily recognized as "Mustang", even if they are modified somewhat. I think the car looks dam good and would make any man drool.

I would buy! NOT the current rear end

I have no doubt that Guigiaro saw in person or pic... designs of the 2010.
It's a way for Ford to get the look out... and guage reaction without taking too much heat.
- If reaction bad... enough time to tweak some design
- If reaction good ... they know they are on the right track

That would make sense. Checkout the rendering Giugiaro is putting the final touches to on that 3rd video........it's a toned down version of the concept......looks just like a '68 from the rear and loses the "wrapover" rear lights and gains a metal roof. It looks superb and I reckon that's closer to what we'll see in '10. I hope so, anyway

Our buddy "G" in Italy obviously had a heck of a pay day if Ford paid him on an hourly rate. It was mentioned that "G" spent 30,000 hours on the design of the vehicle. If he made a "measly" $100 an hour, which is very small considering he's a world-renown designer, it would cost a cool 3 Mil. I hope Ford did use this as a poll to what the public felt about their 'future' design and was worth their investment!

I think it is a beautiful car. A great blend of futuretech and old school proportions. There are a few small things I dont like about it (interior leatherwork, I think the tailights shouldn't extend up the trunk lid so far, and I doubt the video screens will make it in for cost reasons) but if Ford puts a nice engine in this thing and keeps the car as close to the concept as they can then it will easily outsell the Camaro.
I'd buy it.
