2008 Boss?
http://www.mustangevolution.com/2008...ustang-return/
I didn't think it was comming until 2009. Also thought it would have a 5.0 and the 5.4 Shelby engine in it.

oh wow....that article is terribly old...it was posted somewhere around here last summer.....hence the dates on some of those replies from July 2006...thats why the dates are confusing you...when they wrote it, they thought it was comming then, but its all still speculation...I havent seen any proof of a Boss Mustang..
I believe the car in that picture belongs to one of our forum members as well if I remember correctly...IBTL!!

I dont believe anything I hear anymore about Mustangs....Everyone has there own idea of what could be possible, but as to what will actually happen?? I dont think Ford even knows yet...cuase if they did...it would get leaked and we would hear about it.
The only other possibility is that the truth has been leaked, and we have all heared it, but we cant figure out what info is true with all this BS roaming around about Bullitts, Machs, Bosses, Shelbys, Sallys and everthing else. I bet someone has it right though...

but that is what I "want." I'm not saying that it's going to be available.
I've also heard that they changed the Boss engine to a 5.4L though...

....and round and round we go! I 've decided to stop thinking about what I want...cause if I dont tell the right people, it will only be by God's grace that Ford actually builds it that way...so I'm just going to quitely wait...and see what happens. I hope they build it the way you want it too though! I just want everyone to ba happy about the mustang...I think its a bummer for the hobby when people are dissapointed with what is offered...but you cant please everyone I guess...

I'll just be happy if the price will be under 45k out the door, but hoping it'll be closer to 35k. First thing I'm doing is having the dealer install 4.10s, vortech s/c, new pullies, and a tune. That way it'll all be under waranty through ford.

Also saw the same thing that there will be a 2009 Boss with a N/A 5.4 DOHC. But who knows, Ford's product plans seem to be changing every week.

Let's just hope it'll kill the new Camero (baseline) out of the box. And can kill the vettes (all but C6) with a s/c. If they can get that done, they can put a 2.4L push rod engine for all I care! (just kidding, but you get the point...)

It will take a SE Mustang to beat the 09 Camaro, because my crystal ball says the new camaro (V8) will out perform the Mustang GT once again as it did in the past.

I hope it will, otherwise there will be no incentive for FORD to stop bringing out cosmetic SEs and start focusing on performance packages.

Got a hint from some Saleen contacts that all the development/engineering to make the 5.0 PJ engine was not
just for a 500 unit Saleen product run.
He told me it would not be too surprising to see that engine find a home in a future BOSS Mustang edition by Ford, not Saleen.

I Have No Life
I highly doubt that.
Being that it's a punched 4.6.... no way...
IF there's a 5 litre, I'd expect it to be the new 5.0 engine (jag)
I could see the BOSS replacing the GT500 and having the 6.2 (in some form... N/A or Supercharged)
while the 5.8 rests in the Mustang GT

The Saleeen 5.0L in the PJ is a stroked, not punched 4.6.
None the less, I agree, no way in the world will Ford sell a factory warranted stroker 4.6. It would never meet Ford's durability requirements, same problem the Cammer 5.0 has with it's big bores.
