My Shelby is now SUPERCHARGED

Finally got the install done and wanted to share with you all.

I purchased an HO Intercooled Whipple 500hp kit. Install was done by the guys at CJ Pony Parts. By the way I have an automatic.

All I can say is that this was probably the best purchase I have ever made. Car was Dynoed and tuned to 458rwhp said they could have gotten the car to 470, but wanted to play it safe. Transmission shifts were changed with the SCT to coincide with s/c. We have all heard the issues with this kit with automatics and that was one of my first concerns, the guys at CJ's said they could take care of that and by driving it, it seems as though they did a great job.

The car pulls so hard and seems like it is begging for more boost. The best way to describe it is if i had a small wagon with the bar in the front to pull it, but was running as fast as I could with it. Kit is very responsive to the slightest touch of the pedal and before you know it, your doing an easy 100mph. When I am on the HWY foot is barely on the pedal and when I get on it a little I am at 120 pushing 140.

Raced a few people and it wasn't even a contest, a few newer BMW's and VW's. Now the car has the power and looks, you know how it should have come from the factory. I am very pleased with the kit.

Awesome! though I will admit this sounds like WAY too much power for me, I would want to take some professional driving courses before doing a mod like this, also did/are you going to upgrade your breaks? I would as going fast is fun but only if you can keep it under control, I have always felt it should be breaks before power. Oh well, let me stop raining on the parade . Seriously awesome stuff drive safe out there and enjoy and some pics would be nice.

How was their service? I've been there once and purchased things online and found them very inconsistant; so I dont buy from them anymore. Did they do it right? Did they go out of their way to make sure you were happy?

All was good with them. Everything was very professional, I had a ton of work done on my 05 there so I know them pretty well and their labor cost is pretty cheap compared to other shops. I was emailing them everyday for updates. I let them have the car for a week, so then installed the s/c, LT, Louvers, off road X, mufflers, nexus gauges and motor mounts plus dyno tuned at a shop they use. The power is unbelieveable this is the best thing I could have done. I was thinking about 4:10's, but no way.

31 total hrs of labor.

Brakes was also a concern for me, they are ok with how I drive now, but I probably should get them, but then that means changing rims to fit them.

You should be able to fit Baer or Brembo under your rims w/o any issues. Btw, doesn't you car come w/upgraded brakes?

Nope, no upgraded brakes. I really like the stock bullits on there now and don't to change them. I heard you have to with many of the brake upgrades.

That is awesome. I'm jealous. Eventhough SAI installs this S/C, they will not install it on an automatic, saying it's too much for the tranny. Did you install a shift kit? I don't know why they won't install it, either with the Paxton or Whipple the warranty is kaput, what's the diff? I just get the feeling that the Whipple is more responsive than the Paxton, and I want it for my '08 vert, but I also want an all SAI car.
