The car looks like crap! White with blue stripes not that combo! The scoop on the hood is junk! I guess Shelby is loosing it at his old age.

 

I wish they would have used the CS6 body work and wheels (or any of the new Shelby wheels instead of Bullitts) with the FRPP kits on a GT.
(Maybe thats what a GT-350 might be?)

That would have made stand out more from the base GT.

Nice but, having rented a Hertz those hood pins are a real pain and wires bang back and forth in the wind about 80!

 

Meh....it's OK. I don't think it's ugly but it certainly doesn't stand out that much from a GT or CS. I agree about the Bullitts. Having some genuine Shelby wheels would go a long way toward making it more unique.

 

From what I read, the only color options will be black w/ silver stripes or white w/ silver stripes. B-O-R-I-N-G. And I agree, that hood scoop is a POS.

 

I think it's more fun to find that 25+ HP on your own with your own mods. I guess this is just a way of getting there while keeping it under a factory warranty.

Wasn't it also posted elsewhere or am I dreaming that I heard that it will have a 3.55 rear end, not a 4.10? A factory 6 speed manual with a 4.10 would be intriguing...

 

I'm not crazy about how they executed the hood scoop. And for some reason I just don't like side scoops on the new pony (although they are certainly no worse than those on the SN95's) But I really like the deeper front valance both this and the GT/CS utilize...and I like the grille too.

Of course more hp and a handling upgrade are welcome add ons and the real difference this car offers for the money. (however much that might be) The Power Pac and Handling Pac retail for about 2k together which means that if this car retails for ~2k more than a comparable CS/GT it is a decent deal IMO. In fact in terms of execution this isn't all that different from the original GT350 which offered a little more hp and better handling for a not so unsubstantial amount of money....at the time anyway.

 

Like many here I am dissapointed. I was hoping for something more than a GT-H you could buy. And what do I get? The love child of the GT-H and GT/CS. Don't get me wrong its a clean looking Mustang, I was just expecting more. Ford. Please. Give us a GT350!

 

OK, two gripes. With the stripes stopping short and the looks of the hood scoop, all I see is 'Roush'... The only way I'd know it's a Shelby is the rocker stripes. Is it just me?

Come on Shelby is that all you've got? Go heritage! There are people on here that have modified their cars to look a lot more like a Shelby car should look than what official Shelby cars do. I mean where's the real ques from the '66 Shelby GT350, where are the cues from the popular '67 GT500? Come on.

 

I spoke with a source at Shelby (to remain nameless) yesterday a quite length about the packaging on this new car. He called asking some generic questions about how we get our cars delivered from Roush and what the window addendum from Roush looked like with equipment and pricing and the location of the sticker relative to the actual window sticker. He wanted to know what type of protection is provided on the bumpers, doors etc...for shipping. I then let him know that I already knew about the Shelby GT being announced in Vegas and told him of what I knew about it. He then told me that it will be available with auto or manual...3.55 in the auto, 3.73 in the 5 speed. Itll have a Hurst short shifter as well as the FRPP goodies under the hood and exhaust. The hood scoop at the intro is the hood that will be on the car according to my source, its the hood scoop off of the 68 cobra. Production is limited to far less than 10000 units that other websites are quoting, and Im not too sure on this one, but I think he said that they were still going to do the cars in Las Vegas. Anyway I was invited out to take a look once they get closer to production, I think Ill take them up on it. BTW the color choices are in fact white with silver, and black with silver. Side note....the source said that of the five of the test mules that theyve built with the Hurst, all five have lost the two bolts that hold the shift handle to the shifter. I have one on my car too and told him i had the same problem. I put two nylon lock nuts on mine and they said they did the same and used locktite and this solved the problem.

In my opinion, the hood scoop could stay, but Ford is going a little too cheap on a Shelby, the hood should atleast look like a classic shelby scoop, not a CS scoop. And something i have been waiting for on a new Shelby....what about QUARTER WINDOW SCOOPS??????????

 

You can probably get the same thing for $19.99 (glue jar not included) out of the back pages of a J.C. Whitney catalog. If you're going for a cheap 'n easy look, why pay a lot of money. But hey, whatever you loose in classiness you more than make up for in road-hugging weight and speed-diminishing drag.

You could probaby get that cheaper looking grill for $9.99 (zip-tie attachments included).

 

To scoop what? To where?

The first gen Shelby GT350s, which presumably this most resembles, never had the quarter window scoops anyways. They didn't come till the '67-'68 models.

 

'65's did, '66's did not . . .
