In time it will be. I did buy the GT btw. Ive been looking at the 500 for a long while now. Look this is what some dont realize. Some people out there dont have the time, knowledge, patience to build their own modded car. This car will fill a big void for those people. Personally I fall into this catagory. I work alot of hours and dont have the interest I once had on working on cars. When I do have free time I dont want to be under the hood working on the **** thing I want to be out driving it. And if I can spend a little more than I did on my GT and have that then yee haa. I would buy a 500 in a heartbeat for MSRp if I could get one but you cant at the moment. Maybe next year. But having said that I would also like to see what else is coming out. Amy alluded to another model or 2. No matter what Ford or Shelby does not everyone will be happy. I for one am happy that as a Ford loyalist and a Mustang lover that we have a hell of alot of models to chose from and the GM and Dodge guys are left waiting. Dont even go there with the Charger grocery machine either. Or the Solstice and Sky. Other than the Vette and Viper there isnt anything else in this genre IMO. And as for the $$ arguement if $$ was really that big a deal I would suggest getting a tyco racetrack set and setting it up in ones living room, or getting a go cart. No one with one of these cars is waiting in line for food stamps so lets be realistic

Not in CT .........or should I call it Corrupticut.......Look at the GT500......The mark up of that car has been a running joke on here......You work for a Ford dealership????.......Get me a GT500 for MSRP and I'll buy it from you tomorrow......Let me know.

"The high-flow exhaust system with X-pipe crossover offers better power delivery and a throaty V-8 exhaust note. A shorter rear-axle ratio is installed to capitalize on the Shelby GT coupe’s extra power, especially accelerating off the line. For Shelby GT models equipped with a manual transmission, a Hurst short-throw shifter is installed for more precise shift action."
I guess we need to know if the high-flow exhaust includes the shorty headers and it would be nice to know if the shorter rear-axle ratio is 3:55, 3:73 or 4:10.
On the FRPP website you can see what parts are included on the GT-H:
http://www.fordracingparts.com/mustang/buildyourown.asp
Power Pack: $889.00
FRPP X-Pipe: $139.00
FRPP Handling Pack: $1149.00
FRPP /Hurst shifter: $269.00
FRPP 3:73/4:10: $225.00
Total (parts only) = $2671.00
Maybe the FRPP link will update with the same info for the Shelby GT that thye have on the GT-H.

Guys, Let me add a little info for your figuring....first the 3:55 is not standard, it's an upgrade on manual only, it's not even an option on Automatic, so there is cost there. There is also a hood, side scoops, grille, fascia, hood pins, back letters and striping as well as everything listed. And all the small parts require tooling. You would be surprised how this all adds up. I know you think it should be cheaper, but quite frankly I am not sure anyone, including someone to do it at home could do it cheaper then us. Just my .02

This is all the more reason why I would never pay ANY ADM, either on grounds of principle, OR on economic grounds.
Rest assured, however, the enema fee on this car will just as relatively high as the GT500, perhaps even worse - as others have stated - because it will be viewed as a "real" Shelby.
Still, it's great that Shelby Automotive are back building Shelby Mustangs with Ford.
Anybody here old enough (or know their history) to remember whether there were ADMs on any of the "special" Mustangs of the 1960s?
