Painting lower front facia to match

MY GT/CS is due in anytime and I am planning to paint the black area of the lower front facia to match the color of the car, has anyone else done this? or considered it?

That's the #1 thing I like about the CS. No way I'd paint that, and I'm the one who painted that section on a GT.

(although I didn't paint my lower grill insert - you are on the money about the CS front fascia)

The Shelby GT prototype had that section painted. I attached a pic.

With it painted it looks like a normal GT, not the GT/CS. Thats part of what makes these cars stand out. IMHO.

SteelTown... I knew someone with a black car would say that, I love the contrast in the rear facia but not the front.... it is different enough to the discerning eye.

CS Question

Does anyone know if the Back rear lower under facia is sold to fit the standard GT, I like it a lot, Erik

keepit black, agree that it is what attracted me to the CS in the first place. The body kit (back in my day there wrre "clown suits") is the one thing I have no desire to modify in any way. 'Sides, going back to my younger days (pre-drivers license), the whole retro thing makes my mind click on the front end of the J-car when I look at the CS fascia.

Here's a pic of where I painted mine to match. It looks great painted on a GT, but I wouldn't touch it on a CS.

You're right...bad,bad noobie...the front fascia does not include the spoiler and is not part of the overall look of the car....

To be specific, I agree with those that feel keeping it black is a better choice and looks a little more unique...but there is no wrong choice, only your car and your choice...

...jeez, nothing worse than a noob with no sleep and not enough caffeine...missed the fact that the red GT is a red GT...

Gotta remember to put on my glasses, open my eyes, read the posts, pay attention and engage brain before touching keyboard...and to think I told my operators when I was a computer ops supervisor that I never wanted to hear "oops" after the enter key went "click"....
