Interesting info I found about Candy Apple Red GT/CS's
Sangria Red was a Ford Focus color from 2000-2005, but the paint code was FL. JV is the paint code for Dark Candy Apple Red on 2008 Mustangs. If they were, indeed, the same shade of red, then they should have had the same paint code regardless of which car, SUV, or truck it was on.
Sometimes, paint color names change, too, but the codes stay the same. Torch Red was going to be named "Colorado Red" and we've received Torch Red Mustangs arrive from the factory with plastic wrap and stickers that said Colorado Red (paint code D3). Likewise, Grabber Orange (paint code U3) was originally going to be named Valencia Yellow, but we find references to Valencia on the Grabber cars sometimes. Alloy Gray (paint code G5) is also known as Carbon (when used on SUV's). et cetera.....

Just before I left the dealership, I looked up JV code in the PPG formula computer. Even there it referred to it as sangria red. It isn't a new color because it listed it for other models in previous years in the Ford line. They may have re-named it for the sake of nostalgia. After all, in 67-68, mustangs had candy-apple red then, although it was non-metallic.
