I've seen this all over the place but have never been able to figure it out. What is with the two stripes on the fender? This is the first time i've seen it on a Mustang, the rest are on Vettes and Camaros/Firebirds.

,,,they are called " pit stripes " / war paint ,lol,,they were put on racing cars to tell the pit crew which car was what,,Racing Teams with more than one car racing in the same race, its kinda a old school thing that has been renewed

"Pit stripes" were important in earlier days (60s or so, pre-radio communication from pit to car and vice versa) when team cars with identical paint schemes were more easily discriminated by different color stripes.

One of the Team Shelby guys cuts and sells them in various colors, for your stick-on pleasure.

You want to see stripes? Fourth-Of-July stripes post #29 from the thread linked above.

They are the early RSC #14314 Xtreme's yes. A sound like no other IMO, especially with the headers, no cat X pipe and the CMDP set up, she's a bit snotty ! Gotta love it.

I've been looking at the 14314 extremes, but the pics I've seen look like they changed the size. Your's look like the outside casing is round. The ones I'm seeing now look to be almost oval shaped. I'm wondering if they have a different sound now?

Not sure if any different in the sound, but yes mine are the round one's. They are pricy but well worth it. I picked mine up from a guy that was swaping everything out to 3" so I saved a couple hundred from list.
