Another pricing question and no GT/CS's in my area

There are no GT/CS's at any local dealerships and the salesmen are using this as an exucse to charge full sticker. I'd be paying to have the car sent anyway. Shipping issue aside, I don't have the X plan, so what should I expect to pay? I live in NJ and the dearlerships here seem unwilling to budge even on the 06 leftovers. With the problems Ford has been having lately I thought they'd have been willing to negotiate a little more.

I'd go to Blue Oval News and ask for a x-plan pin and then order a GT/CS from a dealer who will work with you. I have not seen a single GT/CS sitting on a lot so I am not surprised that dealers are not willing to sell below MSRP.

Too bad you're not out here on the West coast....KC's dealership has 4 GT/CS's sitting on the lot and my local dealers have them as well. How about doing your deal over the phone, catching a one way flight and driving your new GT/CS cross country? Would be a nice time for it!!

Good luck

I might consider it. Which dealerships?

I would start with Kevin's and ask for either Kevin or my friend Bill Delay - he's the GM there and tell him I sent you.

Clevenger Ford-Lincoln-Mercury
701 N. Main Street
Porterville, CA 93257
559.784.6000

Bill will take good care of you and yesteday they had three new GT/CS's in stock Black, Redfire and Vista Blue. You will need to call and see what options are available. Simi Valley Ford (Simi Valley, CA) had a fully loaded white GT/CS vert (automatic) on the showroom floor and Kemp Ford in Thousand Oaks, CA has several - one a black with black/Dove interior cloth top vert (automatic) on their showroom floor as well.

Gainesville Ford in north Florida will sell Mustangs at 2% over invoice. There were 2 coupes and 2 verts on the lot last week. Carl Thompson is the sales manager 352 376-5371.

For what it's worth, the GT/CS is considerably less expensive in the states. I have to pay just over $40,000.00 plus 13% taxes Canadian and that is with the family plan. Without the plan I did the build online and it came to over $46,000.00, (all options included). Even with the price qouge I have to wait 10 weeks, until Oct.18th -- if nothing changes. From all that I have heard about this car I do not regret the outlay and feel like I am one of the lucky ones. Long live the California Special!!

Yes, the Cdn price does not reflect the true Cdn/US exchange rate; but that is true for many vehicles, and other issues do come into it (much smaller market, certain Cdn requirements such as DRLs, etc).

Your $40k plus taxes seems high to me for FFP pricing. My GT/CS was bought under the FFP also, and is a loaded Vert. except no Shaker 1000 and no auto. All other options. My price was $38400 before taxes. That included PDI, delivery, A/C tax, etc. I guess if you had the auto and the Shaker 1000 in a Vert you could be at over $40K.

BTW - it IS a great car and you will enjoy it for sure.

I have to agree with you. I do have the automatic but I believe that was only 1100.00 more approx. I'm stll paying about 600.00 more than you and I will mention it to my salesman when pay time comes. Unfortunately I do not have your cost list to show him so I do not know what I can do to prove my case.

Tuco I see that the Driver Orientation Pkg. is the same as part of the Interior Upgrade Pkg. so I will have to show that to my salesman very soon.

You are right yours is considerably less. I have the cloth roof which is 300 more but your MSRP is about 1500 less than mine. I did not take that into account when I first tallied it. I have also found a person in Vancouver that paid the same as you plus a cloth roof so I will be after some answers. I will post my results within the week I hope. Thanks for the reply that made me recheck my math.

OK, Comox, hope you get some satisfaction out of them. My understanding is that the FFP prices were set by Ford Canada, but I think some dealers were "cheating" on them and raising them; or in some cases, refusing to sell '07s at that price on order. Fortunately, my dealer was upfront and there was zero hassle. Good luck.

I have this same car on order, 5 sp, vert with all options exept shaker 1K, but mine has the cloth roof for $38,600 ordered under FFP Aug. 15th. Tuco does not have the cloth roof, a $300 option.

Oops, I forgot to factor in that mine is an automatic for another 1220.00 so that leaves about 300.00 more which may be explained by the shipping cost onto the Island and a 200 klm. drive to Courtenay. I'm feeling a little better about it now but will still check on the 300.00. Thanks for your input folks. Hopefully I will post pictures next week.
