30K Maintenance Said WHAT?!

I just took my CS in for its 30K (31,600 actual) and was told my rear brakes were at 2mm and I needed tires. Is this even possible at 30K?

Now I need to start looking for rear brakes and some tires :/

Recommendations?!

it all depends on how you drive. I have heard alot of guys changin the rear brakes before doing the front brakes. These are not the 60k tires they put on a focus. These are speed rated entry level sports car tires.

I did my tires at 37k on my '07 GT/CS rear brakes the first time at 45k and fronts at 55k and they were not that bad i just wanted to put on a set of Hawk HPS.

Sounds about right. I have put 2 sets of tires on my Lexus IS300 in 55k miles. All depends on the tire and the purpose of the tire. My Honda Pilot goes almost 65k on a set of tires.

As for the brakes, I have been getting between 30k and 45k on each car. I think you are within the range of normal.

Have to do my rear brakes. Passengers side is almost gone and the drivers side looks to be in pretty good shape. 58k miles. I did the fronts not to long ago and they looked like they had a ways to go. I went with the hawk pads in front. Get some ceramic pads low dust that way.
I would take a look at them yourself before I changed them. There may be alot of pad left on there.

a lot depends on if you do a lot of highway driving or city stop and go. The latter will eat up the pads fast.

All right, Hawks it is. Should be here on Tuesday, installed that night (unless I get to watching whatever baseball game is on TV...)

Hawk is a good brand. When I get to my front brakes i'll probably throw on some Hawk Ceramic and just get take off rotors. I'm not a fan of turning rotors.

My rear brakes are staying for quite some time! I got a free brake change from my dealer since a caliper stuck and was covered under warranty.

I don't like all the dust on my rims from standard pads. Its worth a few more bucks not to see that.
