2007 Canceled!

Check this out...

I ordered a 2007 GT/CS six weeks ago on 4/3/2007. Today I receive a call from my dealer telling me Ford has canceled my order!!!...after 6 weeks! I have a lease due back on June 16th and the last thing I want to do is wait another 10 weeks for an 2008.

Any suggestions besides jumping off a bridge?

Sorry for you. I just bought a GT/CS 1 week ago right of the trailer at Wynne Ford in Hampton. I did not plan to but it. I just a wanted a V6 Convertible but I couldn,t resist. Not trying to make you feel bad but my point is there are others that may come not as you ordered but still with great features. Have your dealer do a search. My dealer told me thst the GT/cs is not a heavy seller but there are still new 07 available. I hav e checked ebaymotors.com and there are dealers Ford dealers selling new never driven GT/CS as we speak. I saw a white convertible GT/CS and also a black coupe like mine just the other day. Good Luck.

Take a trip to St. Louis, I know of two dealers with them on their lots.

There are a few at the dealers in NJ. Holman Ford in Mt. Laurel NJ has a Vista Blue Coupe on the lot. Goto ford and check the dealer inventory, you can see the sticker there. That is where I got my CS.

Contact 05FordGT (Jeff). He is a Ford Saleman in PA and he may be able to hook you up.

Poss this close to model change going to the 08?

Cruising Virgina Beach today in my black GT/CS coupe and I saw 1 black GT/CS new just like mine and also a black GT/CS convertible with tan leather. Both 5 speeds. The vert had a cloth top! These cars are still avalable. Drive the 400 miles or fly 1 way and drive your new GT/CS back to Jersey. Ordeing a car is nice if you have the patience. Like Dusty Rhodes used to "Lets stop talking about it ....and do something!"

Out of curiosity, what dealer did you order it from?

jeffgall - Wayne Ford in Wayne NJ

NJJOE - I called about that Vista Blue in Mt Laural, it was sold
I saw that one at Miller, I just dont want Black...thanks for your help though.

AFBLUE - I will do that thanks.

Dougxox - I and the dealer have no idea why. Guessing that there are too many 07's left.

I took the day off today and went to every Ford dealer around me. I was hoping to find a GT/CS or a GT that I would like...but I came up short. I do not want to put down 10Gs on a car that I am "settling for". I think I am going to ordrer a 2008 and ask Ford to extend my lease untill the car is built.

My order for a 2007 gt/cs was canceled, also. First Ford told my dealer the gt/cs wheels were on back order. Come to find out that the 18 inch wheels would affect Ford's "CAFE" adversely. Instead of incurring a finanical penalty, Ford cancelled the order.

Good luck dac64. It seems that you are a patient person. Hint: if you do go with the 08 then order personalized tags now so you can have 08GTCS or GTCS08 on your tags befor anyone else. I will also keep a look out for any white or blue GT/CS Verts I see.

Hey dly. Have you given any thoughts to the silver shelby type strips and also a a revamp of the side stripe in silve? I was thinking oh having Baltimore Street Mustangs --BSM make me a custom set. I am on the fence, but I can always change it back. It (the GT/CS fade stripe) is just a tape stripe. http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/i/173061748997_0_0.jpg?

I wonder how that affects Ford?
I wonder what the CAFE standards will do to cars in general in the next few years?
Right now, the raising of gas mileage seems to be the only thing the Congress can agree with Bush on.

You first so I can see how it looks but I think I leave the stripes alone I like the Ghost affect. Had 2 old timers come up to me in a parking lot and ask to see the engine compartment and we talked for several minutes about all the old mustangs they have and wish they still had them.

Vehicle weight is a key factor in the CAFE calulations. Items weights are based on averages. On average, 18 inch wheels weigh more than 17 inch. Ford (and other OM's) is right up against the 'CAFE bogies'. Therefore, the 'numbers' can exceed the bogies and penalties are incurred.
