07' GT/CS Exhaust Sound different than 06' GT ?

I'm hearing ramblings on these threads that the sound of the exhaust for the 2007 GT/CS is "different" than a 2005/2006 GT. Has Ford made any changes to the exhaust system? I have not heard of any....

Are you confirming this is an official change?

Go look under your car. X looks different from the H pipe.

Only the GT500's will have the x-pipe from the factory. GT & GT/CS Mustangs still have the h-pipe (at least my '07 GT does).

There have been reports that the regular '07 GT sounds different than the 05/ 06. It sounds like there was a muffler change across the board.

I do have a CS (hence the vin on the bottom) I DON'T have a GT. I never have had one and don't know anyone with one. That's why I asked above.

Well, you can't really tell by the VIN anyway. I was wondering if anyone had looked up the muffler part numbers etc to end the guessing. The listen test is somewhat subjective. The only person that I know on the boards that went from an 06 to a CS is Semperfi.

Make that two people..... Semperfi and myself as of tomorrow, I'm trading my 06 GT Coupe in for an 07' GT/CS Vert. The order goes in tomorrow and the dealer wants my car NOW... will be approx. 8-10 weeks without a Mustang ....

Your VIN says that what you have is a convertible Mustang GT (T85). See the 5th, 6th, & 7th digits in your VIN. The California Special is an option package only available on '07 Mustang GT's. That's why the tape stripe has GT/CS on it.
