some really good drivers have nailed a 4.9 but its usually 5.0-5.2

With a tune and a good launch, a little under 5 should be easy.
Ford actually advertised 4.9sec. with no tune because they could prove it.
Maxima generally tests closer to 6sec.

this isn't fast and the furious man. On the road having a car like this is something you have to respect and know your limits with. When someone asks you about racing you should respond back: are you an idiot? None of that junk should be done on the road. Take it to a track where it belongs.
I lay into it sometimes but thats when I'm alone and there are no cars anywhere nearby.

Even if you only race at the track, racing for pinks is problematic.
Case in point...
Back in the day, my buddy raced his Trans Am against a GTO.
He missed 2nd gear for some reason.
He didn't even have a chance after that.
Good thing he wasn't racing for pinks.

At our local dragstrip, and using drag radials, my 07 GT has posted a best 0-60 mph sprint of 4.5 seconds. It runs 0-100 mph in 12.8 seconds. Of course, my GT automatic is mildly modified, too. As mentioned above, any bone stock S197 GT should run 0-60 mph in about 5.0 seconds, give or take a couple tenths. None of Nissan's Maximas can do that in factory guise.

People do strange things to cars. Do you know what he has in the Maxima? Case in point, a guy I work with told me he has a 5.8l Crown Vic with a blower and a load of other speed mods. Supposedly fast as hell......
