I have got 4.8 - 4.9 but i have a tune and cold air with an auto.

karman Jan 25, 2008 04:11 PM

With a tune and a good launch, a little under 5 should be easy.
Ford actually advertised 4.9sec. with no tune because they could prove it.:nice:
Maxima generally tests closer to 6sec.

Glenn Jan 25, 2008 06:31 PM

tell him you will race him title for title

Reediculous Jan 25, 2008 11:39 PM

wow i am going to put a cold air and a tune when the car comes in jeez guys i didnt think that the 0-60 was that fast i was thinking mid 5's but hey that wouldnt be a bad idea lose the race lose your ride HAHAH:grin:

CarRamRod Jan 26, 2008 06:26 AM

this isn't fast and the furious man. On the road having a car like this is something you have to respect and know your limits with. When someone asks you about racing you should respond back: are you an idiot? None of that junk should be done on the road. Take it to a track where it belongs.
I lay into it sometimes but thats when I'm alone and there are no cars anywhere nearby.:nice:

Even if you only race at the track, racing for pinks is problematic.
Case in point...
Back in the day, my buddy raced his Trans Am against a GTO.
He missed 2nd gear for some reason.:banghead:
He didn't even have a chance after that.
Good thing he wasn't racing for pinks.:nice:

At our local dragstrip, and using drag radials, my 07 GT has posted a best 0-60 mph sprint of 4.5 seconds. It runs 0-100 mph in 12.8 seconds. Of course, my GT automatic is mildly modified, too. As mentioned above, any bone stock S197 GT should run 0-60 mph in about 5.0 seconds, give or take a couple tenths. None of Nissan's Maximas can do that in factory guise.

Steved Jan 27, 2008 07:36 AM

People do strange things to cars. Do you know what he has in the Maxima? Case in point, a guy I work with told me he has a 5.8l Crown Vic with a blower and a load of other speed mods. Supposedly fast as hell......

giddy_up Jan 29, 2008 05:13 AM

tell him to bring his maxi pad down south....i got a pickup he can race
