I thought I had wheel bearings needing replaced when I took into the dealership. Guy calls me up and says he didnt think that was the case so he did a diagnostic (without my permission so he wouldn't charge) and found my whole differential needed replaced.

Showed it to me and it moved within the pumpkin. My question is "is that how you know it's the differential?

They want to charge me $1480 for that. I don't have that today so I said I'll take it home and bring it back when I do. Now they want over $200 just to get it ready for me to take home! Something about replacing the fluid. Is that right?

Original symptoms of car for me taking it in we're a humming noise from right rear. Whining humming noise. It stops when I turn one direction and does it when I turn to the other.
