Newbie Owner & Member 07 Grabber Orange GT
Now why would you guys think I'd be upset? Disappointed, perhaps, but not upset. And if I WERE, it would be with Ford, not Dale. My car was built on Tuesday, June 6th. The last six of the VIN are 196018. If Dale will post the last six of his, I'd bet you dollars to donuts his has a higher number which means it was built after 'El Diablo'.
When I was 'bragging' I'd have the first Grabber Orange GT, I never gave a second thought to 'dealer stock' GT's. Eveyone knows dealers are going to receive a few new model year cars before customer orders. I made that statement thinking only about those who have been following the posts back in Feb when we all knew Grabber Orange was coming out and went down in March and ordered their cars.
Ford has been sitting on ISELLFORD's and my GT's since the 6th of June. If you're a veteran, that relates to D-Day (Normandy Beach). If you're a TMS member, it stands for DELAY DAY.
The fact that Dale 'dropped by' his local Ford dealer and picked up his GT in no way diminishes the fact he's the first TMS member with a Grabber Orange 'Stang.
What I'm wondering is, had Dale been a member earlier in the year, and following the threads, would he have ordered his GT with all the desired options or make the conscious decision to 'wait and see one in person' and buy one on impulse?
It is not important that I be the 'first' one to have their Grabber GT. Good Gushi Mushi, that sounds a might immature and overly competitive. I was simply saying that I thought I was going to be the first one because nobody was posting that they had even ordered one. I tend to get a little enthusiastic, so maybe myself and others 'ran with it'.
I gotta admit I'm a little jealous because the first GT's we saw all had the appearance package. Dale's GT is the first one purchased that did not have the package. I don't like the scoop so in that respect, I'm doggone jealous!
The only thing that's kept a smile on my face is the fact I know I've got the 3.55 gears (not 3.31), 18" polished bullitts, and all the other goodies I put on the car. And to date, nobody's seen a Grabber GT with 18" polished bullitts. Which means of all the pics I've seen, and there have been quite a few, nobody's posted this combination! Therefore, I have a little something to look forward to.
Dale, I go out to Wisconsin from time to time and probably pass right by your home town. The next time I come out that way, I will call you and we'll meet. I think it's absolutely the coolest that you're our first member with a Grabber GT.
Now, that said, ISELLFORD and I will be heading over to Indiana to open up a can of whoopazz on Dale...

Congratulations,
You really can't go wrong on this site, so your friend is still your friend. I learned most of what I know from this site or at least knew what to look for in other areas.
Hope you enjoy your 07 and we'll wait to see when the modification bug hits you and what changes will occur as time goes on. It is always fascinating how $5 extra in a wallet gets you looking for "changes" that end up costing hundreds!
Again, Congrats!

Oh man, I'm jealous. '07 colors weren't out yet when I ordered my '06...although not sure if I could've waited. Would've jumped on a Grabber if I'd had the chance. Congratulations, she's beautiful!!!

Again Thanks to all & Pitpup, Thanks for the Kudos. The last 6 of the VIN are 197675. It was strictly Luck & Impulse that I got this Wonderful car. Pitpup, let me tell you your wait will be well worth it. My wife still can't believe that I was so Impulseive as I'm not normally that way, but I saw the car on the lot & had to have it. We just go back from the local high school parking lot where my wife had her refresher course on a manual trans. It came back quick.... You should have seen the BIG SMILE on her face as she "Kinda" got on the Go Pedal!!!! That must be what I look like drivin it... again thanks for all the welcoms & I do have a couple of mods in mind already, But nothin to the body.
Dale, Congratulations and welcome.
Stan, Thanks for showing yourself to be a gentleman with class.
I never doubted it.
Nevermind!!!

Everyone seems to be putting stripes on (even I've made a suggestion or two)... Don't do it, I'm not gonna. Yours stands out just the way it is.

[edit] For clarification: My Mustang is a silver 2000 GT [/edit]
Darn it man! You stole my car! :P
I called Tom Wood on Saturday and they told me that they sold it. I called all over the state and found one in Sellersburg (Jim O'Neal Ford.. down by the Ohio river). I busted *** to get there before they closed at 6PM. They had it prepped for me and I was out the door with it in like 20 minutes. They actually had to pull it off display at the local Founder's Day event. I thought that was funny.
And.. umm... 202749
hehe
