Worth Every Penny of $600,000

So Today is June 5th, 2006. Big deal right? WRONG! For that Barrett-Jackson auction winner, today will probably be a very memorable day and hopefully worth the $600,000 price tag. Since production of the GT500 started today, would this guy take delivery of his today? I just double-checked the Ford Media site and they have no special newsworthy articles. I guess I was expecting to see something about this.

Well, I decided to post something different considering the last few topics have been about Magazine articles. I just know I'm excited to hop down to my dealer to check out one of these. This is probably no rush considering it will be collecting dust on the show-room floor! haha

I wonder if the lucky winner has been gathering info from the We-Take-No-Prisoners GT500 forums?

Collector

I was at Advantage Ford in Monrovia, CA today, and they said a rich guy bought the first GT500 (he was 1st on the list), for $77,000.00 ordered that all the oil and fluids be drained, had a flatbed deliver it to his Beverly Hills address, to a large collection garage, and deposited, much like the arc at the end of the first Indiana Jones film. Like Toy Story II, I'm afraid that GT500 will never make it out of the box, and never be loved by the young of heart. Sad actually. What a horrible fate for such a fun car. Erik

Well I hope he lives long enough for it to realize it's collector car value!

Since ISELLFORD mentioned here that no GT500s were shipping until June 26, I wonder how that happened.
