Will Ford offer an IRS in the GT500?

After driving a 2005 Mustang GT, I thought for sure the GT500 would have had an IRS.

Do you think Henry (or Carol) will ever offer us one?

Not really. I just know that if we were going to see IRS, it would have been on the 2007 GT500. They evaluated it, and determined that the benefit didn't outweigh the cost. We know the 2007 GT500 will not have IRS, and I really don't foresee Ford implementing it for just one or two model years of a limited production car.

The only way we will see it sooner is if Lincoln develops an IRS Coupe based on the S197. I have heard rumors of an S197 based Lincoln, but haven't heard any credible information.
