Just went to my local Ford dealer, they said the word is the Shelby is 400 pounds heavy upfront and won't turn correctly thus is a unbuildable car right now. Ford considered the 4.6 but have told everyone it would be the 5.4 so will stick to that. They said they do not have any info on the build sheets for Monday because of this problem. What say you brad?? They also told me the 4.6 is out performing the 5.4 and of course wanted to guide me to the saleen.

It's a little late in the game for that. Sure the weight balance will have noticable negative effects on balance and turning corners. But, with the suspension changes, that can certainly be minimized.

As far as "unbuildable" -- magazines have already had the blown 5.4 on test tracks, and applauded it's performance, so he is just another salesperson trying to sell you what he already has instead of a future car.

As far as "outperforming," I have no doubt the 4.6 would work better in the turns (all else equal). But, people won't be buying this car to turn.

I would be very interested in knowing what top secret formula other tuners have to make their s/c'd Mustangs turn correctly.

Yeah, I read your post and all of a sudden the police popped up!
I would ask him whether or not Ford distributing the order guides to all Ford dealers on Monday is effected, right? Oh, yeah....common sense probably is not the rule in land!!!

I just got back from the autoshow here in Minneapolis. The blabber mouth at the Shelby was cracking me up. SVT this, SVT that. Go visit your SVT dealership to purchase for a mere $40,000. Blah, blah, blah. I'm starting to think that maybe there is something wrong with the GT500. Why wasn't a order guide available last night. FORD released one for the 07 Mustangs but not the GT500. Again, hopefully I'm wrong. Just being pessimistic. It would be funny if they were getting more power out of the 4.6. Then I know for sure I would stick with my car and put the FRPP/Whipple on top.

The GT500 is a "go". The order guides are out and the time table has not changed.

They were just trying to get you to buy the saleen, I bet you the want to get rid of their 06 pony's. Most car dealers main concern is to get a customer to their dealer, then it's to try to sell them anyhing on their lots, they will say anytrhing to make a sell. If you go back when they have the 07 Cobra, they won't tell you that the 4.6 is out performing the 5.4.

I just love it when Brad pops in for a comment here and there. TMS is a reliable source with the best updated info on Fords, Mustangs, and the GT500. Once I see Brad commentting I know it's for real!

They have 2 saleens, 4.6 NA 330hp I think, 5 speed. Price is $48,000 . They do look good however. Big rims, low to the ground. I still would like the Shelby. The sheets I saw the other day were for regular 07 Stangs not the Shelby. Has anyone seen the real 07 Shelby order sheet? Is it on here to print. Thanks, SW BTW I know they were BS'ing me.

How many spare front bumpers do they come with?

I picked up a copy of the order codes from the dealer. What do you need?
