"... But I'm staring at the pool of coolant, the smoke coming up through those wicked hood vents and my heart is sinking...".

Now we know Ford had a good reason for the king size vents. I TOLD YOU!!! I TOLD YOU!!!
You guys can't say I didn't warn you.

Look at the second pic. I just noticed the GT500 headlight lens are smoked.
That will be another excuse for the AMVs to be even higher.

I guess more for their $60K+ they would spent on a Shelby... If I bought one I'd be a little leery.
Not that I'd be beating the snot out of it daily, but it would be nice to know I could.

With all the bragging Ford has done overheating would likely not be the rush one would expect. Unless Ford expects the GT500 to be driven in school zones all the time then the autoX is out of the question.

HTT and his highly paid senior advisor should have had the test mules driven under all kinds of different conditions and circumstances or at the very least, one would want to think they would, just to make sure. Otherwise, there will be a lot of surprised customers.

Remember, those paying high AMVs might not find riding shotgun in a tow truck too amusing.

Maybe it was the crank that let go with the 26lb balancer hanging on it...several have.

Maybe the front of the crank let go with that 26 lb balancer hanging on it. We're told they've lunched a few.

It was clearly stated this was not a production model. Shouldn't we be glad this happened? Now they can fix it.

Oh, c'mon. Its a pre-production car. For all we know this could be an issue that wont affect production GT500's at all.
