Pulled the trigger and pulled out of the Shelby race

Well, a couple of weeks ago I pulled the trigger on a new car, and I ended up not getting a Shelby. At first when I heard about the Shelby I thought it was the car for me for sure.

But the more I read about it but mostly, the more I got jerked around by dealers, the more and more I seriously looked elsewhere...

So w/o any more here is my new toy. I worked with Pioneer Centres in San Diego (I live in TX) and the car just arrived today. They were first class all the way, and while the car is dirty I thought I would post a pic.

I will still frequent these boards, as I still love Mustangs, but I may be spending a little more time on the twisties

Gorgeous car . . . I think I like that even better than the 911. Good luck with it.

Yeah, it is a Porsche Cayman.

And yeah, it is a totally different feel. And while I do still love the Shelby (and will probably really love a Boss if they make it) this car just felt so right the first time I drove it...

very sweet car. I really hope Ford reads these posts and realizes they are losing sales.

Congrats.

Pretty choice. Hate to say it, but I'll bet you don't go back to a rear engine car after the mid, Euro thing. Enjoy. And go to driving school to get the most out of it....

I've actually heard the base Cayman is actually a better drivers car than the S version, and around the twisties it takes greater skill, and feels a little more precise than the S... Regardless I love the car man..

it's surely better than all small Japanese and German roadsters.I once drove the Boxter and I must say that man can fall in love with Cayman because how it drives ,not because how it looks. If I were You I would take a Vette, but it may be just a matter of taste.
Enjoy Your ride and buy a used GT500 some day

Congrats on such a cool car. I really like the look of the Cayman. Plus it looks awesome in that Cobalt Blue. If you don't mind me asking, what does the base Cayman run anyway? I didn't know that the base was out already.

Congrats.
i have informed the guys at my shop on numerous occaisons and even shown them on the computer - they are aware of it and have passed it on. At least around here, the Dealers have subsequently become more Customer Oriented. But still need to improve on the pricing of their products.

Nice Caymen btw

I agree 100% Crazyhorse, I work for Ford and I'm thinking of going else where. I've just had it with the Dealers.

Oh, that's good. For a minute I thought it was a Boxter. Good choice.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words and I hope you all are able to get your Shelby by working with a great dealership it just was not in the stars for me.

And 05fordgt, the MSRP on a base Cayman and what one can get one for differ a lot, in the good way, if you are willing to shop around for it...which is why my car came from San Diego...I was right around invoice when all was said and done.

I wonder what the turn of events would have been if you would have chosen a GTO instead.
