Finally put my car on a dyno (dynojet). My lake cottage is only about 7 or 8 minutes from Brenspeed. I have been planning to take it up there for the weekend and take to them for a baseline dyno.

Well, no surprises. The best run yielded 431.76 RWHP and 428.83 RWTQ. Using 15% loss, that comes out to about 507 hp and 503 lb/ft tq.

I got video, but, I cannot find my cable to connect the video camera to the computer.

I'll scan the dyno sheets in a few days if anybody cares.

I don't know that I am. The car is pretty good from the factory. I don't have any plans to race it. Someone gave me a JLT CAI for it about 6 months ago. It is still sitting on my workbench.

How does the stock exhaust sound on a GT500. I remember on the 03-04 cobra you couldn't even hear the exhaust over the SC whine.

 

I don't really know. I put the Corsas on the night I got the car. It was too quiet with the stock IMO.

SCer whine is not bad on mine. I drove a pullied GT500 last Summer. The whine was overwhelming in that car (also had a CAI). I'd rather hear the exhaust.

 

Whats the highest hp you've seen on a stock GT500?

 

I think maybe it was Willie (?). IIRC he said his dyno'd at around 460. I think the typical is 430-440.

 

Guess I've got a freak then. I put down 473rwhp and 440rwtq on a dynojet, SAE corrected.

I guess. You gotta wonder about the accuracy of the dynos. There seems to be so much variability. I'd like to take mine to another dyno sometime and see if there is a diff.

431 comes out closer to 507 using 15% loss while 473 comes out to about 556. I doubt there is that much variability from the factory. IF so, you got lucky. Congrats.

 

Mine put down 464.57rwhp / 451.59 ft-lbs (Dynojet, SAE corrected) under these weather conditions:

98.6 Deg F (very high)
28.56 in Hg (very low)
5 Percent Humidity (too low for optimum power)

I can't help but wonder how it would have done if it hadn't been smokin' hot out. Speaking of, my IAT2 temps were around 153 deg so timing was definitely pulled on the stock tune.

And to be technically correct, I wasn't 100 percent stock. I run Castrol oil....and my car was built on a Wednesday..

Willie, I ran mine on an 85* day, so that might very well be the difference in our cars.

 

Will, we're the highest I've seen or heard of. KInd of cool, huh? It's nice to know that there is at least one other (yours) that's out there that dynoed with similar numbers. That basically confirms that our cars' dynos are not anomalous. What is your build date? Mine is Aug 8, 2007.

I need to call and get that info, but I bought it in Nov. of last year so it could be a very similar build date.

 

I picked mine up the week before Thanksgiving, 2007. Yeah I remember you bought yours about the same time. I later found out mine was at the dealership for at least a couple of months with a $25k "market adjustment". What's the last six digits of your VIN? Mine is 113069.

Mine is 133132. I called and found out mine was built Sept. 13th '07. It is 1517 of 6513 coupes and is 259 of 1278 black. So they are about a month apart. Mine was built on a Thursday, what day was yours? How do we find out who our engine builders were. Maybe we have the same one's.
