FWIW, my local dealership had a GT500 show up today on the truck. I had a friend there call me when it got in so I could see it. It showed up around 3:30.

My Shelby GT-500 was due in on Aug 29, but it has not arrived. We had info that said the car was at the ramp in Winston-Salem, but just got word late today the car is still at the factory and there is a "hold" on its shipment. Info came from district rep to my Ford dealer. This is a little reminiscent of waiting for the TBirds in fall 2001.

I stopped by the dealer today and was told mine is on hold. That could be dealer BS and I have not volunteered any information which might confirm or facilitate excuses for the dealer.

At least we're starting to see some verification from differing sources. I'm curious what the cause of the hold might be....

A bunch of cars were held for an inspection with the clutch. The vast majority seem to have been found servicable. Just Ford being very careful with the rollout, I hope http://www.stangsunleashed.com/forum...ndpost&p=41049 and http://www.stangsunleashed.com/forum...ndpost&p=41071

1 Bullit, I didnt realize yo uhad a Shelby on order. I must have missed a post about it. What are you getting for specs? Did you get the AMD raping or were you treated with a respectable MSRP raping ? You must be chomping at the bit to get that thing home

Nice!! folks you have to realize that the k'Net is a summation of reason and suggestion. If you don't find a majority, its just speculation. But, it may lead you to facts. Ford is just following what has been acceptable in the past. The info age SHOULD require them to change. Ask them. http://www.fordboldmoves.com/default.aspx Fire away. They asked for you....

T88, D3, 854, GW, 68S. The "hand shake areement" is for invoice plus +/- $1,700, whatever 50% of the margin between invoice and MSRP is.

Not at all. This has been my most serene wait of the cars I've ordered ever. Perhaps if I didn't have the snake (with the Borlas, of course ) I would feel different.

Why Mr. Bullitt, don't you know one can go to hell for lying? I'd be very suspicious of whom I was shaking hands with. No pom poms for you! (Which, by the way, someone removed from the list of emoticons yet again. Tsk Tsk Tsk. No sense of humor)

Or be greeted by a thousand virgins.

I shook hand with the sales manager, the one I have purchased five Mustangs from at great prices and the one who has received over 40 sales leads from me and has cashed in on at least 17 or 18 of them.

If he betrays the trust, the dealer stands to lose a lot more than I, long term that is. They'd join other greedy Ford dealers which have lost customers for the rest of their miserable existence.

Eventually I'll get what I want, I always do. Perhaps even a better deal.

It's now Sept. 14 and there's not been another word about my Shelby GT-500 convertible. Last word a couple of weeks ago was it was "on hold" at the Plant. Car was produced, etc. Had been scheduled to be delivered on 8/29. This is getting discouraging, and I confess to being impatient. Has anyone any further word since the last postings on this topic??

Just curious when your car was built? my car was built back in august and is a stripe delete car and still on some kind of hold
Snow will by flying here soon & since Ford recommends the Shelby's are not driven in under 40deg f temps without replacement of tires it looks like it will have to sit for 6 months or more before I even get to drive it!
