Huge ADM

Today I went to my local dealership to pick up a part. They had a black '08 GT500 vert on the showroom floor. I looked at the sticker.....$20K additional dealer markup. This is worse than last year.

Dealership I use for service has a red coupe at $20,000 over. They also have two SGTs (white and black) at $10,000 over.

Tell 'em good luck on all the above. SGTs are going for invoice. GT500s are falling quickly.

Dumb - a local dealer employee told me that a 2007 GT500 was recently sold at MSRP because it was sitting in the showroom too long. (Ya think?) The sales manager actually got mad at the salesman for insisting on ADM and scaring away the buyer. Long story short, called the buyer back and said "yours for MSRP". Same story with the Shelby GT's - nice to see people waking up around here. But, I'll still REFUSE to buy Ford locally!

The dealership in the next litle city from us still has one at 20K over.
My little city has none in stock.
I got a call form the local dealership today.
A salesman asked me if I wanted to trade in my car for a $750 customer discount.
I asked him if he could locate a GT500 for MSRP.
He said FOR SURE, but I would have to pay a $100 location fee.
I said FOR SURE I would buy that.
I used to work there. There ain't no way in heck they will do it.
I wonder how this salesman likes snipe hunting.
I hear its good this time of year.

$49,995 for a "used" 2007 with 123 miles.

Southern California BMW Dealership.

For me, I'm waiting one or two more years when the used price cracks the $40k barrier. I'll be ecstatic for sloppy seconds......... because I have never paid MSRP for ANY new car and will never pay over MSRP for a USED car. This car is no exception.
