HELP is 2009 production over????

I ordered a car(gt500) in the begining of sep. They told me 8-10 weeks. Now they say the order was never pulled and Ford stopped production of the 2009 but they said that the owner of the dealership got involved and located an exact 2009 that was just produced from another dealer and they are going to get it for me, same price as we negotiated no changes, just not the ordered car. Is this correct or do I need to be concerned. The owner got involved because I am a Fleet customer of there's and order alot of cars from them.

Hey bud, since I'm at home and not at the dealership, I don't have access to the updated communications on commodites. I do know that Bullitt, GT/CS, Red Stripe Package GT500s are all done right now. When I get to work in the early morning, I can look at the sheet and tell you what it says for GT500 orders. Personally, if your dealership had the order in the bank since September, and Ford didn't pull it, either they didn't make a call to their zone rep about it, and or they didn't have a high enough priority on it, for the schedulers to pull the order. I'm glad they were able to find one for you though. If its what you wanted, and its brand new, and you cannot get the one built, I would just stay with what they found for you. I'll let you know what I find out in the morning.

Hey- Don't freak out on us! The scheduled end was supposed to be 1/13/09. In view of issues that may have changed. There are plenty 08 and 09's on the lots. Just look on EBAY. There is a lot of dealer trades happening right now at all levels too. I think you could make a deal under MSRP if you were willing to be flexible on color etc.

Jeff- is 2010 still called an S197?

It will probably be a few months until the certificates are offered.

As far as I know, its still an S197, since the chassis is the same. Just like the SN-95 chassis cars from 1994-2004. Only difference was the re-fresh in 1999 was called "New Edge". Though the body codes are totally different now. No longer are we seeing T80/T82 for a V6/GT coupe, etc. Curious to see the VIN numbers soon.

I'm not an expert on this, but, as far as I know they are not avail for GTs. I think it is an SVT only thing.
