GT500 steering wheel question

I posted a near identical thread in the appearance section, but I really need the help of a GT500 owner to answer this:

I know that the aluminum spokes can be removed from an IUP wheel, but can the BOTTOM spoke of the GT500 steering wheel be removed? Basically, does anyone know if the lower spoke of the GT500 wheel is removable like the IUP wheel, or is it molded in place like the base wheel.

I already know that the upper IUP pieces won't work, because the GT500 wheel is leather wrapped in that part. But, I was thinking that the bottom in silver *may* look good, since I have the IUP already. But, I don't want to be the guinea pig that finds out the hard way, and end up with at least one messed up steering wheel, and maybe even two.

thanks in advance

Well, I got my GT500 steering wheel today. I didn't realize that the bottom spoke is GRAPHITE, not BLACK. So, I will probably just keep the GT500 factory spoke

Sorry there was no help but it is not like any members would be altering the steering wheels.

Actually, LittleBlackPony helped me out. (I had it posted in the interior mods section, and he replied there)

He was able to confirm that the bottom spoke is removable, in case anyone is interested.

I would have thought that someone would have tried popping out the spoke, but I guess only one person did.
