Does anyone have information on when we can order the 2008 GT 500?
...NOT for what they're doing for Mustangs today, which amounts to nothing given that all the performance stuff is either made by, or sourced from, Ford. $100K is a lot of scratch for a handful of 90 cent badges that say "Shelby" on them.
That is the point of my post. These cars are made by Ford/SVT with the Shelby name on it as a commemerative nod to the '60s cars. Even the Shelby GT is a regular GT with FRPP performance parts and a little styling flair from Shelby Autos. Shelby is not "making" the cars anymore.

This car is not about Shelby's ability to make a hot car. SVT made this car. It is a commemerative edition paying respect to the Shelby's of the 60s. This is no different than the Mach 1, Bullitt or BOSS cars. The name was put on there to sell cars.
Crazy Horse: Don't know how you did MSRP-can't even get close. I was shown the book and supposedly the 2008 Shelby can be ordered on April 16th, with production to start in June. The deal I had for the 2007 was 5K over, but it may be more since there is a line of rich kids lined out the door. What a week that will be--Kicked in the butt on April 15th by Uncle Sam and a round house fist by a friendly and courteous pug nosed bandit posing as a sales person.
Like I said, it will be quite some time before these things come down to MSRP.
I don't know how Crazyhorse worked his deal, but I strongly suspect greed may get the better of his dealership when the '08s arrive, and that he may find himself back playing the waiting game again.
Not trying to be negative, but is there a single person on this board who has yet taken delivery of a GT500 at MSRP?
The value of these things will plummet when the 2010 model year arrives and Shelby starts doing versions of THAT car. And you know they will. They're not gonna kill the Shelby Golden Goose after just three years, particularly not after Shelby Automotive has just set up shop.

They will come down to MSRP. Every week I see 50 or 60 cars listed on ebay and only about 5% (at best) are selling. eventually, there will be many cars on the lots. The price will fall when the perception that the car is "rare" goes away.
Last year, a Ford Rep at the Cleveland Auto show told me that the Boss Mustang would replace the Shelby. Take it for what its worth.
Right now, I have proto type GT500KR wheels in my plant. I also have the same wheels that say GT500.
FYI- The GT500KR will be at the New York Auto Show.

The 09s are going to be something along the lines of the Boss and / or a GT350 Model. These Dealer Owners have been told thus far of only two years instead of three for the GT500s. They personally know CS and made comment that Ford now owns the rights to the CS Name. Cannot verify by independent means yet if this is true, however.
