Was talkng to my dealer a few days ago and they are going to ask 55K for the GT500 that they get. That was before the auction, bet they are going to bump it over 60K. Have a feeling it will be a few years before a Shelby sells under 50K.

does it include the 8%? i thought the 8% was added after the auction was over. atleast thats the way the announcers made it sound. what about the orange hemi cuda convertible that sold for 2 million?

I believe so - the sold price was $600,000 so the 8% would be $48,000. The prices on their website reflect the price with the 8%.

No kidding, that will be my next car to add once I pay off the Shelby. Luckily the wife has given the go ahead, she just wants me to pay off one vehicle before we get another. I wish I could afford a real Shelby Cobra...but I don't make that much money!

As crazy as most of the prices were, there were a few good buys, even though, good buys being in the 6-figure range. The best IMO was the 1967 Ford GT40 Mk V Safir Engineering car that went for $350,000. This is a great buy, especially since it wasn't a true race car, but would be great for vintage racing and club events. It's what I would have bought if I had the cash.

okay guys. Stick to talking about the 2007 Shelby that was auctioned off. If not we can move this one to the General vehicle discussion section.

Wow.

Right now there's a certain rural Kansas Ford dealer who is kicking the crap out of himself for already signing all kinds of paperwork and taking a hefty deposit on the one they're getting... at MSRP.

My SVT Dealer called me and said he thinks Shelbys will go out to ALL Ford dealers and not just SVT dealers the bad news is that each dealer will only get about 2 and they will go to the highest bidders. I got sick of this playing around and went out and bought a 50th Anniversary ZO6 Red Vette with very low miles for $35,000. Its got all I want and will turn a 12.3 sec. 1/4 mi. Plus great gas milage. I love Fords but when a deal comes along you grab it.
thats a smart buyer. I really hope for the average guy that once the shelby excitment settles, that anyone of us can roll up and get one. And not just that ... you can pick one up at a consignment place with low miles and at a depreciated price. Even the new Z06s will be affordable in a few years

So B.J. sells a 600K mustang. Does the buyer have to pay DMV fees based on a 600K car?

You must have missed the other five...

Thanks for merging some of them. I was getting tired of checking 7 threads with the same stuff.

If dealers start selling them for around that price... Better start bringing bibs, towels, umbrellas, and a raincoat for the drooling greedy salesmen and the tears shed by paying suckers.
Anyway, here's an idea - sell the souls of the greedy, dishonest salespeople at the dealership who will use the hype to set AMV. Why? 1) There's more than enough of 'em to go around 2) That's where they will be going anyway, no big loss 3) No need to sell your own soul, much less give an arm, a leg, your first-born or a left n_t (guys only!) if you really want one bad. And 4) You will getting a GT500 right N O W Ugh, I shudder to think of what our local dealers will charge for it. Better bring a barf bag.

Dave I have no problem with that! I've seen how well you take care of your car. Just be aware that it will be awhile since I have a lot of plans for the Shelby.
