It seemed that the GT500 (non-KR) was getting an increase to 540hp, but we have confirmed that this is not the case. What we have confirmed is no official number has been placed for horsepower on the 2008 GT500, but do not know if that means it will or will not change from pervious models.

Got me, i havent even had time to read the press release. Just got it posted and kept ripping through stuff.

 

Does that mean job1 Gt500 will not get this or does it mean that there will be no job1 and all will start with job2?

 

The upcoming KR is coming with the 540 and starting in Spring 2008. Are you sure the standard one is?

 

Thats the information that was passed along to me. Brad has a credible source for it, or else I wouldnt have been asked to post it. We have a policy of not posting every little rumor unless we know its a fact from a 100% source and/or the press release is coming.

 

Trust me, I'm not doubting the validity. I'm just wondering what this means. I have a deal for a 2008, 3rd car at a prev SVT dealer. If all 2008 don't start until job2, I'll either be waiting a long time or not getting one. If the job 2 cars get the upgrade, I want to wait until job 2 anyway. The suspense is killing me.

This thread is a null and void pretty much now. What was stated before about the GT500 being 540hp has now been cleared up and NO numbers have been released or leaked for the 2008 GT500. Sorry guys.

This thread has nothing to do with the GT500 KR. It will be 540hp, this was in regards to the GT500 (non-kr) getting bumped to 540, which we found now to be incorrect.

Nothing is changing to our knowledge in the GT500.
