Hopefully closer to 30 days. I guess some parts will be available before others perhaps. I'm in dior need of some intercooler system parts. Please let me know when you have a .pdf file showing the heat-exchanger and electric waterpump location/bracketry. My Roushcharger is on its way...

I would also like to hear that set-up will work and what the preliminary costs might be.

That really bugs me. Now, whenever you see a "Shelby" you'll have to first ask if it is real.

This is nothing new. Shelby clones have been around for years (and cobra clones too)

Yeah… that is too bad, Who gives a flip!!! As long as someone isn't trying to pass the car off with Shelby badging and logos what is the difference?

I have 2 Cobras and could really care when I see a V6 sporting some snakes, the TRUE Mustang enthusiast can tell who is who. I can tell you (since I own a rare Mustang) that most people and people that own Mustangs can’t even tell what they are looking at most of the time.

Keep on truckin, I am getting the Shelby bumper when they come out because they LOOK BETTER. When that time comes I have some Saleen HID headlights for sale, oh wait I guess I have a Saleen clone now.

quote] Agree. As long as they don't try and screw someone for a buck. The knowledgable know and if you buy a car like this as just a visible form of the little blue pill, you don't help the cause anyway. I have people coming up to me all the time saying "wow your car doesn't look like all the other cobra's, where are the stickers?" This in a city(600000+) with perhaps 10-15 SN95 SVT COBRA's! Action not vinyl is the solution.

You know I would love to have a 68 Mustang and I look through the Autotrader on line regulary. And when I See some with a lemans strips or a side scoop and the want zillions of dollars for it and call it a "Shelby Clone" , I am just amazed. But then I have to sigh a sad sigh!!! Because I can see both sides of this argument.

Part of me is just so amazed and pissed that people have the ***** to want zillions of dollars for a car just beacuse they add a stripe or scoop and call it a clone, when they really didnt go all the way, and it dosnt look at all like the real deal. But then occasionally you see one that they added all the body parts down the every emblem and all and then they really want a zillion dollars. But you can badge and paint all you want , a clone is not in any Shelby registry with any numbers, its just PARTS!!

Then it hits me and I fell like crying! The complete clone looks just like the real deal that I can only dream of owning, actully I will never own, so the clone looks prettty dang good. The sad part is that the real Shelbys have escalated in price to stellar proportions , so that all us working stiffs can afford is a CLONE!!

And now it looks like history is repeating itself, and the new GT-500 will be way out there in price and all I can do is enjoy my 05 and mod it. So I guess a few parts and badges here and there, and Ill just make my 05 a tribute to the car I cant afford, like many others have done. WHat else can a working man afford???

The worst thing is so many desirable cars are now simply TOO Valuable to Drive on the Street. If you are fortunate enough to own one the Insurance would kill you. Building something to emulate these cars is all you can do. Lets Drive what we can and stop worrying about the badges. If it looks Cool and you like it do it and enjoy it. It would cost way too much by the way to Totally do an 07 Shelby Clone. The complete changeover would be far more than a shelby would cost at this point.
Hot Rodding has always been about making a car the way you want it. Swapping the best parts and pieces from here and there to make something different and personal. That is how it all started back in the 40's . I believe a lot of people would love to do more tribute type cars but are held back because of fear of what others might say, let's ease up a bit shall we. The whole bad rap on clones started when people tried to pass off rebadged cars as original to make a buck. That is what soured everybodies opinion. At This point in The Game it is done to drive a car that is Personal yet unique and affordable. BTMO.

I wonder if there is going to be a Shelby/Cobra brake upgrade kit for the GTs? Also, I wonder if Ford put stiffer bushings in the rear control arms to help fight wheel-hop on the Cobra? I don't care about body parts and badges, but I do want the good stuff you can't see from the Cobra. I'm all about OEM-type parts and details when it comes to building my own interpretation of a modern hi-po pony.
