WWYD...
I ordered a 2013 V6 w/ PP from a local dealer that doesn't arrive until 7/6. I was recently contacted by another dealer about a 2013 base GT they have and was offered basically $4K more than what I'm paying. I can't say $$$ is not an option because I'm pretty conservative w/ my finances but would you go for the GT? Another thing is I believe in karma and I don't want to jack with the dealer I'm currently working with, it just seems like a really good deal. Any advice will help!

Id get the Gt if it was an option for you. Comes stock with hids now and thats the only thing i regret not getting on the base 12 i bought. I didnt wanna wait for them to get me a car that i wanted so i got antsy and just bought the base model but im happy with it. Just all depends on if the features of the premium are what you want or the performance that the 5.0 gives you out of the box , and fuel mileage really is not a problem in the 5.0 if you drive it normal. Either way im sure you will be happy but IMO i would never get a V6 just my opinion though

If you feel bad about the ordered car....talk with that dealer. Never know what direction things might go.
On the other hand, many have backed out of an ordered car with no problems.
I would get the GT.

Don't feel bad when it comes to YOUR money. Cancel the order. Sooner the better for the dealers sake. As hard as it seems to get a special order built, chances are they haven't even started on yours. Bottom line is its your money and you should get what you want for it.

I would give the dealer you ordered the V6 from an opportunity to match the other dealers price on a similarly equipped GT. If they can't then I would get the other dealers GT with no regrets. And good Karma.

It's only 80 more dollars a month bro. Its a no brainer. Now move! Go get your 8 cylinders! You'll never once sit in your 5.0 and go, "dang I Shoulda got that v6!" 80$ a month is a steal. Do it! Keep us informed man!

I just have to chime in that if the V8 is the most important feature for you as it seems it is def go for the GT. However with less money for a stripped down GT I can get a fully loaded V6. For me the features of leather, performance package and the many other option like heated seats etc made it a choice that I can live with more. I have to also say in the past I always had a daily driver along with my mustang. If that was going to stay the case I would get the GT because it would not be used everyday. That said since my wife convinced me to take it from two cars to one the V6 opted out as my better choice for a new Daily Driver.
Last but have to add the new V6 has more HP that the 05-10 GT's just saying its also something I can live with..

I agree with this. If your word means anything to you, give them the opportunity to earn your money. Finances are important but so is your own integrity.

Not everyone can lay down the kind of $$$ that the GT's are bring now a days hence the reason for the V6 which have kept the Mustang in production all theses years. Also I hardly put any thing from the East in the same category as the Mustang.

I recommend yes... you won't regret it. Plus, that money should be fairly negligible over the span of your loan. A few less eat outs here and there, done.

As per wwId, I actually did consider the v6 and all my previous mustangs have had v8's. The current 6er is a great little engine and is not something to be embarrassed about. Ultimately the 5.0 had too **** much magic for me to resist! So that's what I would do.
I can't imagine the dealer you ordered the 6 from would care. As another poster noted, give them a chance to match the deal. That's what the FREE MARKET is about.

Sorry, If I to sounded as I was on the offense. Bottom line is I love Ford products. My wife has a 2011 SES Fiesta and I just sold my 2006 Mustang and my Audi TT which I loved both cars in order to get a new one. Unfortunately everyone's life is different and so is the budget.
