I think the traction control on the Mustangs 'over react'. My V-6 seems to accelerate better with it off, even when the tires aren't sounding off.

Um, actually, the 2010 GT interior is the same as the 2011. So the 2010 would be comparable to Audi or BMW also. Just sayin'.

I think all the 412hp hype have uped peoples emotions too high.
The car is faster then a lot of the old mustangs but you most likly won't be able to feel it. The butt dyno is not that accurate.
I have experience in the same thing. I owned a 99 GT with off-road x-pipe so the car was quite mean sounding. I test drove a 03 cobra with stock exhaust, to me it felt slower then my GT. I knewI was wrong since the cobra had a good 120hp over my GT, but the preception without the exhaust noise screwed things up. So after the test drive I jumped baack into my gt and floored it. The sound was there but felt like ages for my car to get up to speed compared to the Cobra.

folks, 100hp over the 2010 is not going to suck your b@lls into your abdomen, in fact, if you can't drive you may just lose in stoplight warfare to a variety of lesser hp cars
even a gt500 would probably not scare you considering the cars you've driven or anybody that has driven any year stock v8 mustang
it's going to take maybe 600+ rwhp before that happens or maybe a litre-class sportbike
now take a 2011 GT on a winding country road and floor it in 2nd from 25mph and i'm sure it will blur the scenery and make you go "whoa"
the conditions people drive in play a huge role in seat-of-the-pants judgements
the times i've been on the dragstrip actually felt the slowest in the car compared to on the street when keeping it on the floor

i don't think you showed any douchery in your review just because the car didn't feel like you expected it to

All 5 liter engines have low end grunt. Yes, Chevy and Chrysler have a few cars with 6+ liter engines right now, but don't let that fool you. 5 liters is a big engine for a mid-size car.
And if you don't think the new 5.0 is fast and furious, you are spoiled and need to drive a Chrysler LeBaron for awhile.

In truth I felt that the 5.0 did not have a lot of the lower end. But I also felt it was a more controlled takeoff. I also tried it with the TC all the way off, and it was still a very control feel. Now was it slow, heh um...no. But it did not have the whole zmog feel. In defense though I did not test a 3:73 gear car. It was 3:31. Also I drive a S/C 08 so...lol yeah I knew it would feel a bit different :P
The new Mustang is still very well define, and I like the innovations in it. Just be prepared for it.

its a 302 that likes to rev high...not a 454 that redlines at 5k RPM and has 400lb ft at 2000 RPM. Ford took the route of the 4v which I LOVE!!! It more of an exotic type engine a la Ferrari etc that comes to life at 4k RPM.
