Wrx race
So on my way home this young kid in a wrx kept trying to race me. After the road cleared i figured i will give it a try. I have the ford racing tune. We went at it from 3rd to mid 4th gear when i let off. We were side by side. At the light i asked him if it was stock, he said yes. Said he has 275hp and runs 0-60 4.7. So my questions is, is my car not performing right? Only has 275 hp, awd usually has the edge from a dig not from a roll. Doesnt make sense. Keep in mind i went to red line And my tune is pinging. I also want to add that i tried the track apps and got a 0-60 of 4.8 first try. It was one of these

You should have definitely pulled on him unless you started in low rpm's in 3rd or he was modded. I doubt you was spinning in 3rd so I will rule that one out. What mph and rpm were you at when the roll started. I know they are lighter and for every 10lbs a car sheds it is like it picks up 1hp. With it being 250lbs lighter it would equate to 25hp or so. With a tuned coyote you should be in 360-370hp range at the wheels and WRX they put down around 250-260hp at the wheels. HP wise you should have pulled.
As far as 0-60, when I was stock I would get 4.5's so either you're spinning or you have issues with the tune.

But seriously, he wasn't stock. Import guys LOVE saying their stock after they beat or match a much faster car (I used to be one). It makes the faster car driver question exactly this and rack their brain.
I roast STG 2 wrx's. Even the newer ones. So he was probably heavily modded. And probably brake boosting too.

Last time I was at the dealership, this cocky little Gomer Pile of a man proceeded to put down the GT and Roush Mustang.
He boasted the STI and all his race car stomping antics around town!
Long story short. The STi is tiny and looks ridiculous. He looked like a total idiot with his cap and Don Johnson blazer and shades in that little buzzy car. Surely women would laugh?
Speaking of, It reminded of how my dad would always question why the largest women would always drive the smallest car and the smallest men would always drive the biggest truck? Of course, they didn't have Ricers when I was child but if Dad was alive, I'd love to hear his comment about them.
Aesthetics rule over performance in my book. The STI may be quick but it looks like a shoe.

That's why I asked about the rpm's and I bet driver mod would be a big factor if the WRX was not modded.

Being as you only have 35 posts or so, you probably don't know the rules. Street racing discussions are not tolerated. FYI, so you know next time.
So, in before the lock!!!
Given that, I attribute your experience to driver in-experience

Theres is alot of factors but a driver mod is not one of them, i shifted quickly at 7k.

If you dont have a drag strip close, I would do a couple 0-60 runs with the tune and then with stock tune to rule it out. I still say he had some work done to the car.

Yeah ill give that a try thanks. He did mention how amazing my car sounded though. Haha

Lol. I didn't think geographical location had anything to do with the rules of the forum. If they did, I stand corrected then. If not, then the mods will chime in soon enough.
