Widest tire on stock 18" rim

Widest tire on stock 18" rim
I was wondering what is the widest tire other people have run on the stock rims? It came with 235-50-18 and I run 255-45-18 with no problem and 225-55-18 in the winter.

My Mustang came with the same size tires yours came with from the factory. I also went with 255/45-18 when the factory tires wore out. Thats the widest tire you can go with on the 8 inch wide wheel.

On the street, I wouldn't go wider than a 255 tire on an 8" rim. However, I successfully run 275 width drag radials on factory 18x8" wheels at the drag strip. They fit surprisingly well. Here they are on my '14 GT....
