Who is doing there own maintenance?
Was thinking about doing my own maintenance on my 2013 Mustang Gt. Will I need to save receipts for warranty work? Do you look at anything else will doing the routine maintenance?
Do my own maintenance, try and keep track of receipts for the oil and filters.
They won't ask you for any backup unless there is a question about improper maintenance being the cause of a warranty issue.

As an ASE certified technician I perform all of my own maintenance. I will even perform my own repairs even under warranty if the cost parts isn't crazy. I do not like others to touch my car. I have seen so many hack technicians over the years and dealerships are sometimes the worst. It can be a training ground for technicians. I would prefer technicians do not learn in my car.

Dave,
I think you'll be ok... always a good idea to keep a folder with all of your receipts and records.
I did all of my own maintenence on my 2009 GT and the dealership gave me some crap about it when I went to trade the car in for the '11... but in the end, I had spread sheets and records on everything and there was no problem.
On my 2011, I have just let the dealership do the oil changes tire rotations, etc...they don't charge much more than it would cost me to do it myself (for the cost of the oil and filter) and I don't feel like dealing with the used oil any more so it's worth it. They also installed the Boss exhaust for me since it was just the cost of 1 hour of labor...which would have been a gigantic pain in the rear if I tried to do it on my own. with no lift.
So...If that's what you want to do, I suspect you won't have a problem. It's a good way to bond with your car.

I love it when dealers recommend a "tune up." What do they do; points, plugs, condenser, adjust the timing, etc.? ;o) I used to do maintenance on all my cars but these days everything's so different. I'll change my Mustang's oil (once I have it), and change the filters, but there's not much more to do in the way of maintenance to be done (unless I'm overlooking something).
