2010-2014 Mustang Information on The S197 {GenII}

When the dust settles on the S550, how will S197 be viewed?

How can there be so many replies without acknowledging this genius comment?

My 2014 shifts perfectly also. Never experienced any problem. I did drive my friends 2013 Boss and experienced third gear lock out during a high rpm shift. Also had the clutch stick to the floor at one point, also during a high speed shift. My car has the Boss Mani and I have not experienced either, even when shifting above 7500rpm.

I have a '14 GT and I definitely experience the 3rd gear lock-out. This is the first MT car I have owned where I feel quite certain I'd be a lot faster with the automatic. The combo of the lockout and the slushiness in general sometimes make me completely forget what gear I was even about to shift to. I have a Barton bracket ready to go when I have the time to slap it on.

Regarding the looks of the '15, I'm telling ya, it's really grown on me fast. I met one in the wild yesterday in black and while it was in the distance, I really thought it was some kind of supercar.

my second favorite is still the 05-09, but I really liked the front of the 10-12, and the rear of the 13-14 look pretty cool to me...like the 71-04, the 15 though just dont scream BUY ME enough to me- but checked them out, interiors are definitely best ever, and I'm sure the performance will exceed all past models... but lookswise we will all have our individual favorites.

oldschool maybe, but I like thick sidewalls, deep wheels, recessed grills/headlamps and flat taillamp panels best...still in love with my obsolete 06... if given a choice of a new 05 or a new 15, Id still take the 05, just looks more like I always thought it should - hope the new ones find a great fanbase (worldwide), know they will be a ball to drive in any trim
Love that S197 Style. I have one of each too.

I have a 2014 and I love the retro styling. I have been a fan of the 60's Mustangs for years. To be honest I really loved the 2005 but the 4.6 just didn't do it for me. When the 5.0 came in 2011 I knew a new Mustang was in my future. Just glad I got off my *** before the 2015 came out. While its nice, the 2015 just doesn't do it for me.

I have yet to see one in person and I'm sure that it will be some time before I do just because of where I'm at. I'm still not sold. I am wondering how many I will see at the Nurburgring this summer though. There are quite a few on that side of the country because the military car sales on that side got almost the whole allocation of 2015 cars.

I saw a Guard GT with the 20" wheels the other night, at dusk. In lower light settings, with the lights on, the 2015 is gorgeous to me, especially in the metallic colors.

Lol yep, and not the first time I've said that or gotten that response

But really, it has so much presence with all the LEDs lit up, and the fluorescent street lights following the lines. In the day, it still looks like a Mustang to me, but best from behind. Still, the front is a lot less stumpy in person than it is in pics. You really need a wide angle lens to capture the sheer width of the front end and accurately capture the angles of the headlights. I don't like it in cell phone pics, but with a good camera, the details are apparent...fwiw

I have heard this from many people. Especially the peeps on mustang6g. After seeing several in person I can honestly say that they look no different to me in person than in photos. Could it be that some folks have a hard time visualizing a 3D object from a 2D photo?

i feel bad when the dust 'settles' on any mustang, especially mine. It's time to move on if it does

I have seen a lot of new '15's this past month or so and i can see myself getting one in a few years, but not to replace my '13, but in addition to

My 14 feels so light when I drive it, a lot lighter than my 05. Is the 15 the same way? When I was looking at the 15s a few weeks ago the salesman pulled up in a 15 GT PP and said let's go for a drive. I said NO cause I knew if I drove it I would have bought it!

I think it just depends on the angle of the pic. I've seen some really good pics of the 15 (like those taken by our very own cinizter).

Well, if you are suggesting the 2015 Mustang looks better in the dark, I'd certainly have to agree with you!
LOL. Love it! So the lighting is good, but the car needs to be hidden by the darkness?

I do have to admit, I do like the 15 from the front wheels back. That nose just looks like a big old succor fish... Thought I might like it better in person, but no. It still does nothing for me. I am perfectly happy with my 14.

Thanks Shaney and Tom... Was feeling punchy.

There isn't a dedicated 2015 review forum here, but one day over Xmas I went overboard comparing a 2015 GT PP to the Boss on another forum. More examples of my odd humor are there...

I think it will be looked at as one of the best retro mustang designs and now the car company's are starting to move away from retro,( except for the challenger) all together. Which is fine, It gives these vehicles a chance to be different from the past but also similar.

Enjoyed you write-up. Just glad I bought a 2014 track pack. I think I will keep it for a very long time, but that GT350 is peaking my interest. We'll see if it breaks the bank. Thanks for sharing. Very nice review.
