Have had my wheels on for about a week and realized I need a spoiler now. In y'all's opinion should I go with a ducktail type (gt500) or something raised like the gt/cs style?

 

My vote is for the GT500 spoiler. It really makes the car look more aggressive.

 

Yeah, you can't go wrong with the GT500 spoiler.

 

They both look good, but I definitely like the GT500 spoiler better. I own a regular GT, so the holes on the trunk from the stock spoiler matches the GT500, but it looks like you don't have any spoiler at all, so you have the nice option of going either way.

 

Wheels look great! I have the MMD ducktail spoiler (gloss black on my white car) and it's different but looks super mean. That's my suggestion but the gt500 wing looks awesome too. If not either of this then I'd say the ft/cd wing as a last option. I'd get only the wing itself painted but coat the posts and underside of the wing (and maybe the trailing edge where fingers tend to grab) in something like plastisol or rust oleum flexi dip. Not permanent and protects the paint underneath.

 

You have a virgin trunk lid. Stay spoiler less! I wish I had shaved my spoiler while my car was in the body shop. I prefer the look of the GT500, but I'm also a spoiler delete guy at heart.

 

I think the california special pedestal style spoiler looks awesome!

Get the c/s spoiler in black so it combines with the wheels.

 

Thanks for the responses everyone! And I have honestly thought about just buying a trunk lid off a parted out car if possible to keep my virgin trunk lid lol. But on the original subject. getting a black spoiler to match the rims, I think I would like it but am afraid of it possibly looking tacky.

Go with your gut on this one. Your car looks clean and mean with those wheels and the untainted trunk. I'm not sure the spoiler would look tacky but it would absolutely be a step in the wrong direction (IMO).

My biggest regret when ordering my 2011 was unchecking the "spoiler delete" box. I am extremely envious of your hole-free lid.

 

GT500

 

I'd go with a OE spoiler in black ... The FP6 appearance package is new for the 2014 V6 this package includes painted black outside door mirror skull caps, painted black rear decklid spoiler, quarter window louvers and painted black aluminum wheels.

 

+2 to the GT500 spoiler. It just looks so clean and aggressive. Just my opinion.

 

Go with the Roush spoiler. I think that one looks the best. Since you don't have holes your not limited to just the stock or GT500. I would have went Roush but I don't want to deal with drilling all those holes or paying someone to do it for me.

 

Ford pedistal or better yet, Steeda pedistal.

 

Just know that if you choose the GT/CS spoiler, there's no going back unless you want to pay a body shop to fill your holes. The GT500 uses the same holes as a stock lip spoiler or in your case, only need 4 holes drilled. The GT/CS needs 8 holes and if you choose to take it off for some reason, the others spoiler options do not cover up the holes.
