I'm looking for a set of wheels dedicated for track days. The 19x9 Brembo wheels are quite heavy at 31 lbs, and I'd rather not scratch them up at the track.
I'd like to put all season rubber on the Brembo wheels and have a second dedicated road course set.
I'm looking for suggestions for strong, light-ish wheels in the 19x9.5 size. I'd like to be able to put 275/40-19s all around.
So far I'm leaning towards the GT500 replica wheels AM has (I like the charcoal finish
), but I haven't been able to find out what they weigh. Does anyone know?

Check these out. Talk to Jay. They are almost 10lbs lighter per corner. Worth the money if you ask me. You could also get some TSW's but they only come in +40 offsets.

Most of the guys that run dedicated track wheels use 18's because of weight.
The Forgestars above are approx. 20 lbs and their 18x10 so you can run a 285 tire without issue. AM lists them as rear only but they will fit in the front without rubbing and clear the brembo calipers, their only issue is the center cap will not fit.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Wow, 10lbs per corner less? That's HUGE. I really like the flat back version too. I think I'll have to save up more, they are pricey! Thanks for the suggestion.
Yeah, I noticed that. Another advantage to the 18s is also better tire availability in these sizes. I've decided I want to stick to 19s because even 285/40-18 are shorter than my stock 255/40-19 setup. And Ive noticed that with 3.73s my 2nd and particularly 3rd gears are a bit short for the track. So if I go with a larger diameter tire I pick up a few mph is each gear. And along saving a few pounds on each corner this is a win-win for me.

Your welcome
BTW the F14's are available in 19x10 +42 and are about 24 lbs each.

I would agree on 18's... I also would prefer a bit more speed in each gear but the tire options and pricing for 18's swayed me to go that route. What pricing are you looking for? Lots of the boss guys use enkei wheels with good results. They were above my budget. Love the gt500 wheels I ended up with tho.

I have 275/40's on the stock Brembo wheels and like that hey are a tad taller than the stock tires. The extra traction helps too except when it's snowing. Ha ha

I forgot to mention these:

LMR has them for under $170, and they are 5 pounds lighter than Brembo wheel. Definitely in contention as well.

Not that I wouldn't take a set of lighter wheels now, but rather there are a number of other items (car trailer so I can tow the Mustang, suspension, roll cage w/harnesses, etc) that are important in my opinion. Figured my set of ~$300 18" GT500 wheels saved me ~$500 off a set of new wheels and that money went right into the trailer fund!

5.M0NSTER,
Yes, the Forgestar F14's will clear the brembo brakes in all the sizes that we carry them!
I'm not positive what the 19x9.5 '13 GT500 wheels weigh, but I believe it's about 26lbs. I'll see if I can find one laying around the garage without a tire on it and throw it on a scale for you.
I've always liked the AMR wheels for a light road race option. You should be able to run them in a 19x10 and be able to install the center cap.
Hope this info helps!

Thanks again.
P.S. I still have GT500 axle backs, K&N air filter and Barton shifter bracket from AM sitting in the basement waiting for install.
This winter has been total
Hey Shane, thanks for the info! If you could find out what the 19x9.5 '13 GT500 wheel weigh I'd be very grateful.
If it is in the ~26 pound range I'm pretty much sold. That would be basically a 20lbs saving over my Brembo wheels (with more grip all around) for a good price. Plus I love the charcoal look.
Thanks again.

I just stopped in the garage today and only found a set on our 2014 GT which has tires mounted too. What I can do is pull a wheel from the warehouse and having it weight for you. However, I need just one more day to do so. By tomorrow I should have the measurement for you!
Sorry for the weight here, but I'm glad you're excited about the '13 GT500 wheels! They're a killer looking wheel for sure.
Now get those new parts in your basement installed!!!
