What's your ritual & Why?

When you’ve finished driving your Mustang & you’re ready to put it in the garage, what is your ritual? Do you let it cool off & then cover it? Do you use a California Car Duster or detailer’s spray? Do you give it a complete wash? Whatever it is that you do, please share it & reveal your reasoning for doing so. Thank you in advance, I’m looking forward to the feed back, on this subject.

I back it into the garage, roll the windows ~98% up (so as not to trigger the auto-sealing feature when I close the door), shut it off, put in first gear (not reverse!) and pop the hood to let the heat out before I close the garage.

My garage is very level so if the brakes are at all warm from any recent heavy use, I won't set the parking brake because this can supposedly warp the rotors... though I don't know anyone to whom this has happened.

OK, she's an '05, not a '10+, but my car is babied.

She tends to only get driven at weekends, and then only to car related events. If she's dirty, she'll be cleaned inside and out then put to bed in the gargage looking nice n shiney. She then gets hooked up to the CTEK battery charger.

If she's stayed pretty clean, she'll get the once over with the detailing spray.

Once every couple of months she'll be waxed n detailed and every 6 months get the claybar treatment.

I actually find detailing the Mustang is theraputic.

(even my daily driver BMW gets washed once a week, although I'm nowhere near as **** about that car. No point as it sits outside all the time and currently has 167k on the clock!)

Bring it in the garage, let it sit for a few hours to cool off. When it has been just washed and has not sat out and collected a lot of dust I use the Cali Duster (very lightly brush the dust off) and detail spray from Adam's with their micro fiber plush towel and give it a good wipe down.

In the summer I just drive it, wash it often, and park in my drive way. Winter it's cleaned and stored in the garage, I don't park it in the garage in the summer because of lack of room. My race car is parked in the garage no matter what the weather

Put the car in park. Exit the vehicle. Walk into the house and wait for my wife to ask why I was out cruising around for hours.

I put it in the garage, clean the front end which removes bugs before they dry and are harder to remove. I cover it if it is clean. I look it over closly and then pop the hood to let the super charger cool off.

You do not have to worry about this unless you are tracking the car. The rotors will not retain this amount of heat from street use.

Well... My ritual had been to park it, grab the quick retailer and spruce up the car. But now in the sun there is so much micro-marring that it hurts my heart. I know that it's part of owning a dark car but man, it's killing me. Lava is a color that you have to "look through" the clear coat to appreciate and the scratches have me questioning EVERYTHING. I only use high quality micro fibers and Megs NXT ultimate quick detailer. :-(

Pull her in and let her cooled down for a few.. take the cali duster to her and if I see anything on her I use some quick detailer to get it off, then toss the cover on her.

Pull it in the garage, get out, cry a lot when I see all the bugs on the front, start drinking, yell at myself for buying a black car again, sleep, wake up the next day n wash it....

The only ritual aspect I consistently do... Is to close the doors at the door handle, by placing a finger in the manual door lock. I'm OCD on finger prints... And wont touch the door or window... And instruct all passengers to close it by the handle.

Where I park is in carport attached to my back door. You can get to it by 3 ways. 1 is from dirt/gravel road. I seldom go that way, only when dirty. I can take other end of the alley, which it dirt now. Was green grass when I 1st got my 11. #3 is to go through a neighbor's concrete driveway that's close to my house. Cuts dirt alley by 2/3's. If there are no cars, I take that. If there, I take long alley way.

I always back in! I ran into side of house twice in my 95. My depth perception is not with my anymore!! I make sure I am far from my house, then back up. Yep, park & lock right away. I just put it in P for Park, too. I always park closer to pass wall to make sure I don't ding door when I open it! Why I hit my house.

I pull in the driveway into any spot that my wife and two daughters haven't already taken with their cars, then I turn off all accessories (lights, radio, etc.) before turning off the ignition. It's a daily driver, so I don't have time to pamper it like everyone else.
