Might be for the gear selector lighting for cars that have an automatic trans, and since your car is a manual, the pigtail does not connect to anything.

Pulled up the wiring diagrams, that should be C307 - "Transmission Shift Selector".
it would plug into the automatic shifter, here's the pinout, give's you a handy fused power and ground circuit if you ever need them there. #1 - GD139 (BK-YE)20 GROUND - PILLAR A RIGHT # 2ND STUD #2 - CDC41 (WH-BN)20 SWITCH - SOLENOID KEY LOCK (INHIBIT REMOVAL)early build #2 - CDC41 (WH-BN)22 SWITCH - SOLENOID KEY LOCK (INHIBIT REMOVAL)late build #3 - CET53 (BU-OG)22 CTRL MOD. - POWERTRAIN # BRAKE SHIFT INTERLOCK #4 - VLN04 (VT-GY)20 CTRL MOD. - IP/SWITCH ILLUMINATION #5 - CBB46 (WH-BU)20 FUSE - 46 OR CIRCUIT BREAKER #6 - CET34 (BN-GN)20 SWITCH - TRANSMISSION CONTROL / OVERDRIVE CANCEL (TCS) |

yes SC, the illumination circuit(violet wire with a grey tracer/stripe) is tied into the switch lighting which, judging by the transistor in the the smart junction box, should be pulse width modulated to allow LED dimming. use that for power and ground to the black with yellow wire. remember LED's have a specific positive and negative terminal.
and yes as well to Ace, #5(white with blue tracer) is a positive feed from fuse 46 which runs the signal side of a few relays, it's only a 5 Amp fuse so don't load it up, but it should work perfectly for a remote signal, it's hot in run and start. Where in NH are you from? I grew up there, lived in Barrington and Somersworth. |
Moved up here to Epping 15yrs ago, man has this place grown... Right off of 27 heading toward Raymond about a mile from 'downtown' (lol - a church, pizza parlor, dry cleaner, and the town hall). That 5a circuit is just what I need for the remote signal, will let you know how it goes when I do the install.

nice, I have family in epping and I even worked at NED for a summer. As a dealership tech I have full access to workshop manuals and wiring diagrams, send me a PM if you ever need any help.

Thanks for the info/Updated wire colors
Thanks for this help! I'm working on adding a Bluetooth receiver in my 2013 V6, and rather than changing the shaker unit, I just wanted to tap the AUX input and hide it under the center console, and so I needed switched power and this sent me in the right direction, though I needed to dig a little on my own to make sure I had the right wires for a few reasons.
1. Not all my wire colors were exactly the same (my switched power was different.) 2. I had one more wire than you listed (though it was only putting out 60mV when the car was on so it was easy to dismiss it). 3. The pin numbers you provided didn't match up with the pin numbering on the plug, so I thought it would be helpful to add the plug pin numbers. So I thought I would add below the pin numbers and output voltages for each wire in case other people's wiring colors are different. Pin 1: Blu/Orn - 6v Pin 2: Brn/Wht - 14v Pin 4: Vt/Grey - Variable voltage (dimmed lighting) Pin 5: Blk/Ylw - Gnd Pin 9: Grey - 14v Pin 10: Green - 14v Pin 11: Grey/Wht - 60mv If all the other colors match your post, I'm pretty confident Grey is going to be my switched power/fuse 46, though I haven't pulled that fuse yet to test. |
Welcome,
Glad The Old Thread Was Helpful. Be Advised When it Comes To Wiring Diagrams There Will Be Some Overlap Between Years and Models But A Car With Different Packages and Different Years Will Have Some Different Pinouts Etc. Always Try & Get Most Accurate Diagram For Your Specific Year. I Believe Op in Initial Post Had a 2012 and You Have a 2013 Which is Why You Had Some Variations! Also A General FYI Some Functions Although Wiring is in Place May Not Be Actually Enabled For That Unused Function. Sounds Like You Have it Under Control I Just Do These Little Interjections For Others Reading Thread Down The Road. KC |
Thanks!
I'm not as far along as I thought. I pulled fuse 46 to test my theory and all the wires I listed in my previous post remained at 14v with the power on, so back to the drawing board :dunno:
I have been trying to find a pin out specifically for my model (V6, pretty sure it's base and not premium, didn't even have the automatic headlamps when I bought it). Either way, thanks again for the advice. Pic below of my shifter plug for context. Pin 1 is top right. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/themust...8726fc35fd.jpg |
I finally found it! And a question.
I finally found the pin-out! Again the colors aren't exactly the same, but the populated positions are the same, and I found it in a forum post regarding a flooded 2013 V6. The pin that was ~60mV is the signal return for the PCM, and 2 of the 14v lines are for shift up and shift down.
Now a question: would you know if I can tap the 14v for the up or down shift without screwing with the PCM so long as the signal return is disconnected? Or does the signal return even matter? Any info or pointers in the right direction would help. Thanks! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/themust...8184f8d407.png |

Here Are The Correct Plugs For The ACM & Console on a 2013!
Don't Know if I Would Want to Tap into Shift Controls! Perhaps You Could Find a Better Wire To Tap in At ACM. KC |
These are great!
Thanks again for the tip, and further for the diagrams! I guess it's back to the drawing board for me yet again. I guess there are plenty of ways I could do it, but I was thinking reversible, clean, and easy, which is why I didn't just power it off the power point in the console and plug it into the AUX on the front side, and also why I was trying to do it under the "arm rest". But I'll get it figured out. Thanks again!
