What's my car worth ?

Thinking of selling my 13 GT & I'm wondering what YOU guys think it's worth. Don't really want to trade (might consider) so my price would be for a retail buyer. 13 GT premium 400a, 6 spd, GHIG, stripe, 3.73, 19" machined wheels, Accessory PKG 1 (Q window louvers, side scoops). 5500 miles, 1 owner special order. The car is about as close to prefect as you can get, it still smells new. No paint work. 100% stock except for resonator delete & GT 500 mufflers added. Thanks ! Scott

I would think you could get maybe 35k or so. What did you end up paying for it if you don't mind me asking?

MSRP was $37,935, I bought it for X plan which was $36,215 - $2000 rebate. So $34,215 + taxes, DOC fee, plates & title. Unfortunately I'm thinking it's only worth around $26k. However I would like some Mustang Source expert opinions !! Scott

26K? I`m not in the market right now but.....

The thing is still new-ish. Instead of taking the depriciation hit, why not keep it and drive it?

After seeing the GT350, i entertained thoughts of trading my 2014 GT in - it only has 2,600 miles on it - i did a Kelly Blue book check and it came up $26,500 for a car that is about as excellent as you can get. That doesn't include the $4k of parts I've put into it either. I paid about what you paid for yours - $39K list and i got it for 34K. Needless to say I'm just forgetting about that GT350 and going back to my original plan of keeping this one for a long time.

When I was looking for mine this past August I was seeing them with similar options from 27-33k. That was list price though.

My thoughts without looking at KBB or NADA would be 26k maybe.

Of course it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay, but retail source information, i.e., KBB, Blue Book, Black Book, etc., should give you a good idea.

Positives: clean car, low miles, and desirable color. Negatives: newer car- instant depreciation, timing- RWD sports car in Michigan in the winter.

Nice car! GL

That's not a bad trade-in deal for an almost 4 model year vehicle. But 4X4's are always in demand, especially this time of year.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't take less than $26k. All I know is when I'm looking @ a really nice used car, bike, boat, I'm willing to pay an extra 1-2k for something super nice. Guess we'll see ! Scott

The problem is everyone uses services like KBB to help figure out the fair market value before buying. Mods are negatives to all but the most educated buyers. I'd take KBB private sale in excellent condition as my estimate. You might add your 1-2k for both the mods and the car's exceptional condition that the right buyer might be willing to pay. I would not use retail. People will actually pay more to a dealer they know they can go back to if something comes up, and that often provides a warranty.

Check Truecar or Car Gurus and see what people in your area are paying, a good price in Tennessee might be 4 or 5 grand either way what your area can support.

Thanks for the input. Between KBB & NADA (adding for options & miles) clean trade is $25,125 & clean retail $27,850. I'd say my car is beyond clean. I have no mods, IMO that's a wash anyway. The car still has I year left on the 36/36 & of course the 7/70. The stupid thing the car guides don't add anything for the remainder of the warranty (they have no idea of the in service date). I realize these books are just a general guide. But I think I'm really close on a 26k firm price on mine. Scott

Wow that's a beauty. I figured it would be worth more but usually keep my cars a long time so don't really see the big hit from depreciation.

I'd say the car is worth about $26K-$28K. The unfortunate thing about there being so many Mustangs on the road is that they depreciate quickly.

I really don't think the deprecation is terrible (not good either). IF I get 26k for the car that's an 8k hit for 2 years. The first 2-3 years always are the biggest drop for new cars ! Scott

NP! If you have an extended warranty thru Ford, remember you can get a pro-rata refund.
