What is the top speed for a 2013 GT

Just wondering, what is the actual maximum mph for a 2013 GT? I know the speedometer has the max at 160 mph, but I seriously doubt that a stock GT could even get close to 160. Inquiring minds would like to know.

A stock GT can easily do 160.

164 in 5th @ 7,000 rpm w/ 3.31
153 in 5th @ 7,000 rpm w/ 3.55
145 in 5th @ 7,000 rpm w/ 3.73

A GT should be able to pull 164 in 5th with the speed limiter removed, there is plenty of power on tap to do so.

Down a hill, with a tail wind, with low resistance rolling tires, on a recently paved street, while wearing driving gloves. My source says it can hit 181.

Ive gotten up to 155 and car still felt like it had alot left, Granted i have a Steeda 93 Tune when i had the opportunity to go that fast ,but i did hit 150 once when my car was stock and it was still pulling pretty good. I've read on forums where guys with tune have claimed over 170 with a GT with a Tune, forgot where i read that so dont ask but i could see that its possible. I wouldnt try it though unless i had a brand new set of tires to do it on

Ive heard sixxers with a new driveshaft and a tune can hit 145+ so id imagine gts can hit 170 in the right conditions with the amount of power they have

You would need to adjust the rev limiter as well, IIRC crossing 170 would be right about 7300

here are the MT82 gear ratios;

1st - 3.66
2nd - 2.43
3rd - 1.69
4th - 1.32
5th - 1.00
6th - 0.65

and here is a link to a pretty handy speed calculator;

http://www.car-videos.net/tools/spee...B1=Recalculate

right now the info is for the TR6060 and 6500 rpm and a 27" tall tire - you could probably edit the link and get the MT82 info in before you load the page (looks that way atleast) or just enter it after the page loads

Everything you guys have mentioned has involved a manual trans. What about a stock GT with an auto trans? Would it make a difference?

And if there is a factory installed limiter, to what speed are we limited?

You would run out of road before hitting 170 in a stock GT, coupled with altitude and temperature... One's method should involved some sort of prayer as well to seeing 170.

My previous car a VW GTI with a stage 1 tune hit 150MPH with 220whp, it is only 400lbs lighter then the mustang. I gurantee the mustang can hit atleast 170, i would guess it would top out around 175-180 with a tune.

Edit: with 3.31's

We are talking about a closed course I'm sure.

164mph is 242 fps!

I think a prayer would be in order. It would probably take 1/10th of a mile to stop with reaction time.
